Crochet for College Tuition
My husband said if everyone just paid a few dollars as many had offered we could put that towards our youngest daughter Bailey's college tuition for fall of 2015. An idea was born... What if I put the pattern on Go Fund Me and see how much we can raise?
My daughter Bailey and I both suffer with the same autoimmune disease Ankylosing Spondylitis. Her college saving was spent paying for biologics, surgeries and medical bills for us both. I have been praying for God to provide a way in which we can make her dream of attending UC Santa Cruz a reality. At $35000 a year her 4 years will cost what we paid for our first home.
I was forced to retire from a career I loved in 2010. I have spent several years trying to figure out what I can do that would still contribute to society in any way. After 10 back surgeries my mobility has been significantly reduced. My x-rays look like I have fallen in a hardware store. My spine is fused at 5 levels, my SI Joints are screwed tight and I now have a neurostimulator that helps to manage the pain. However, my crochet hook has helped maintain my sanity!
I crochet for charities, friends and family. I tend to pull out more stitches than stay when I am in design mode. This piece is my favorite by far. I have created a PDF with pictures if you click the link below it wil open in Google Docs. If you would like to make a donation, any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you have any questions. I will try my best to respond.

I want to thank everyone for their donations.
I am working on another corner to corner boarder I call Cottage Rose. I hope to post it soon!
Have you considered (or already done) putting the pattern on ravelry? If you haven't heard of it, ravelry (www.ravelry.com) is the largest fiber-arts online community and it's free to join; many people post and sell their patterns there and their system is designed to be super user-friendly for non-pros. It gives you an easy way to collect payments and distribute the PDFs, as well as a built-in, customized community with which to market your design. In fact, I heard about this gofundme from a ravelry forum! Feel free to email me if you want more info and I'll be glad to share; no affiliation, just an early adapter and very frequent user.
Did you use Red Heart? What is this color combination yard called? Thank you so much.
Please let us know the names of the yarns used. Many, many thanks.
I tried to donate for pattern, but the site would not let me.
What yarn did you use, including what colors? I would love to reproduce this just as it is, it's so beautiful! I'm sharing for my hooker friends :-)
This is a beautiful afghan. The colors are outstanding. How do I get the pattern?
I too would be willing to pay or make a donation here for these beautiful patterns, but you don't mention how we can get them! Please tell us how to get them!
I'm willing to send a donation to GoFundMe to get this pattern. I just need to find out how to fine it.

I just read the comments on FB and found my answer re yard type and color, so you don't need to respond to my questions. I'm excited to try this for myself!
I too would love the border pattern and am very willing to pay. Kindest regards. Louise x
