Fix My Friend

My best friends, Jenny and her husband Ben Pulliam are an amazing couple, full of love and life. They have a very entertaining toddler, Henry. They have been blessed with the news they will be having a baby in the summer and all is perfect!  Just as they had hoped, the new baby is a girl. Her name is Lucy.
Ben had been having headaches and was diagnosed with migraines. The medication wasn't helping so on December 18th, 2014, he was given an MRI. Brain tumor. His doctor scheduled immediate surgery to remove as much of the mass as possible.  They got over 90%.  The tumor would be found to be Glioblastoma, a very aggressive cancer that will continue to find its own blood supply and cannot be completely eliminated. He is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy to slow down the growth and give this beautiful family as much time as possible.
If you have any prior experience with this cancer, or you research it, you know how devastating it is.
Jenny is the art teacher at the small high school I work for in northwest Arkansas. Ben has been unable to work since his surgery and will hopefully be able to go back after his radiation and chemotherapy in 7 weeks. He works for Ferguson Enterprises, a plumbing supply company.  As many young couples, they have lots of love and heart, but not money.
These people are very dear to me and I have their permission to share their story. I am hoping someone will be able to help them with finances. Obviously the surgery and therapy will be a huge financial hit and anything I can do to help my friends I'm willing to try.  They do have some insurance, fortunately, but the out of pocket expenses are going to be astronomical.
I want to fix my friend's brain and take away this pain, but I will do what I can. I will pray, and I will try to find a way to ease the financial burden.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you could know my friends and how special they are. This does not need to happen to them. This does not need to happen to anyone.
Thank you for any help or prayers you can share.

As many of you know, Ben passed away yesterday morning October 24th. Jenny has shared a beautiful video on the Ben Vs Glioblastoma Page. Take a few minutes to view it. You will be touched by the love.
Thank you all for your kind contributions, positive thoughts and continuing prayers for the Pulliam family during this journey. They are precious.
I have received some donations today and would like to encourage anyone who would like to help ease the family’s financial burden at this time to make a contribution. It is always much appreciated.
Thank you and blessings to you all.

Dear friends,
For those of you who have not been updated with Ben Vs Glioblastoma, here is Jenny's post this morning.
Yesterday before Ben was to be moved to rehab I had a bad feeling about it. The Dr. cancelled the transfer and ordered and MRI. Just as I had expected Ben's MRI showed continued progression. The decision was then made to call Hospice. It was a hard night, and a difficult morning. Arrangements have been made for Ben to be moved to Washington Regional's Hospice home in Fayetteville this afternoon . At this time we aren't sure how much Ben is aware of, he is sleeping a lot and communicates very little.

Again thank you for all the love and support.

❤ Jenny

If you have the means to make a donation it is much appreciated. And as always please send prayers and positive thoughts their way. They are loved. And they are not alone.
This is happy.

Dear Friends and Loved ones,
It has been a rough couple of weeks for Ben and Jenny. I wanted to give you an update, and ask you again to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. We found out Monday that Ben's tumor is showing signs of growth and inflammation. The clinic and Jenny have been checking for trial eligibility and preparing in case he qualifies for something new.
I know how much this family means to so many. Precious souls. ❤️
This is happy.
