Kayley Lowder Medical Relief Fund

Donation protected

I am sharing this in hopes to raise money for the Lowder family to ease their financial burden. His daughter, Kayley, has TWO rare diseases that occurred suddenly and has to be on morphine daily so she isn't in screaming pain. He and his wife Missy are by her side as she has been receiving critical care in a hospital for 73 days. The last thing this family should worry about is all the incurring medical bills. Jay is an evangelist and has been bringing people from all walks of life to Christ through his evangelistic organization Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries. He has relied strictly on donations for years to use his gift to minister to other hurting people.  Now it is our turn to love on him and his family. Any amount given from the heart is a blessing.

Here is her story:
Over 2 months ago 19 year-old Kayley Faith Lowder went out with friends and was living the life of a normal, healthy, active teenage girl. Other than some strange and never before experienced soreness in her lower body she went to bed like any other night. Four hours later she awoke screaming for her mother. She was suffering excruciating pain in her arms and legs and barely able to move.

The following day this recent graduate and ministry worker was taken from the clinic to an Emergency Room and then  admitted by doctors into the hospital. In the next three days her unimaginable pain went without relief or diagnosis. Unable to relieve her agony or solve the cause of her sickness she was told by doctors "there was nothing else they could do for her".

Kayley was then transferred by ambulance to UT Southwestern in Dallas TX to a hospital that specializes in unusual diseases. Two weeks, two stints in the ICU unit and countless procedures later she was diagnosed with a extremely rare disease known as "stills".  Stills is an auto immune disease characterized by fevers, rash,  inflamed heart, excessive lung fluid, debilitating body pain, swollen lymph glands and enlarged liver. Her Stills disease then morphed in macrophage activation syndrome which is a more severe inflammatory disease. This disease affects 1 in a million of people and because of its rare occurrence has no cure or prescribed method of treatment. The specialized hospital she is in states they only see one to two cases per year.

Kayley Faith has suffered the full gauntlet of pain; she has had both lungs drained, fluid around her heart (peri carditis), inflamed heart muscles (myo carditis), received blood transfusions, fevers up to 104 degrees and numerous other procedures. Kayley is still receiving daily doses of morphine and other pain meds in attempts to soften her suffering.

In spite of having never been in the hospital since she was born or ever having any serious health issues, Kayley is still at UT Southwestern 70 days later. Upon her transfer, her mother and father immediately left their home in Wichita Falls,Texas to live in the Dallas hospital in order to care for her needs. Her mother is a stay at home mom and her father a itinerant preacher, writer and producer who has been unable to continue his traveling ministry until they are able to move back home.  Kayley also has a little brother Graham and older brother Lane.
