Caring for the Kaufmans

$58,650 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 573 people in 11 months
Created November 20, 2017
Patrick started experiencing light headedness starting in September. He went to his family doctor, who did some blood work- but found nothing. He started developing new symptoms of headaches, fatigue and impaired vision. He went to another doctor who ordered an MRI of his head on Thursday 11/15 which showed some swelling and lesions on his brain. They set him immediately to OSU to do more tests. After performing a PET scan and a biopsy, it was determined that he has Stage IV Melanoma.   Radiation at an outpatient facility has begun as the first line of treatment

Every area of the Kaufman's life  will be significantly  impacted in the days to come  as the family rallies around helping Patrick get well.  We, their friends, family, and community can ease some of the financial burden by collectively contributing to their life expenses over the next several months.   We have passed our original funding goal of $15,000 but are always welcoming more donations as every bit will help in the coming months.    For this reason this giving campaign will stay open indefinately.   Thank you for caring for Patrick and his family.

Give what you can.  Every little bit helps.   This is an amazing demonstration of support to Patrick and his family. Karen Kaufman, Patrick's wife, will be listed as the beneficiary on this campaign is she is currently handling the "business" end of the family's home life.    All monies will go directly to an account that Karen and Patrick share.

It is with heartache that we say that Patrick passed on Thursday September 13th. We are so grateful for your support. The Kaufman’s have the most generous community. We reached our financial goal and have surpassed it. It will remain open for the foreseeable future if you want to give. Thank you thank you thank you for showing up on this way. ❤️

Friends. It is time to rally around the Kaufman's once again. Patrick's health has declined quickly and Karen is currently on unpaid leave as she cares for Patrick and her family at the same time. We are increasing the funding goal to $50,000 with the hopes of offsetting current and future expenses for this precious family. Giving once again, is a way for their wonderful community to gather around them. Will you help? We would love to reach the funding goal of $50,000 in the next 7 days.
