Kauai Flood Victims Fundraiser

This past month, the small island of Kauai was hit with a devastating flood, receiving over 27 inches of rain in 24 hours.  These floods have washed away homes, businesses, farmland, animals, and more, especially on the island's North Shore. These Hawaiian families make a modest living while they share their beautiful home with tourists and visitors, but the estimated $20 million in damages caused by this natural disaster has crippled the tourism industry, shutting down hotels and devastating small family businesses. The lack of media exposure both during and since the incident has left the victims with few allies to lean upon. As friends of the island, we have contacted some of these families who have suffered from the devastation, and have promised to send funds their way so these victims can repair their lives and return to some semblance of stability. Kalalea Juice Hale is one such family business we aim to help, as they have lost produce and livestock, and their hut has suffered damage from the rains. Please contribute what you can, and we will be sure funds are handed to the most needy. 

The particulars:
We are the Keuka Boardroom, operating from Keuka Lake in Upstate New York.
Many our members and affiliates have been to and surfed in Kauai, and have made friends with the local families who welcomed us. 
Kalalea Juice Hale and Hawaiian Surfing Adventures are two groups of friends and fans who have been affected by the devastation and have agreed to share the funds raised between themselves and other families in the North Shore who have been most affected.
This money will go towards fixing buildings affected by this natural disaster veterinary care for pets and animals, and short term needs for the families. Funds will be sent to Kalalea Juice Hale family, who are on the spot and know who are the neediest.
