Katy's Mission Trip to Indonesia

It is far more than excitement that I feel to announce that God has provided to me an opportunity to take His great gospel beyond Portage County, beyond Ohio, and even beyond the United States.



Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world, with 250 million people. It is also the largest Muslim country in the world, with over 200 million practicing Muslims residing there. People in Indonesia are open to the gospel. Many are excited and eager to accept Jesus when they hear about Him, but there is one large issue. The gospel is not readily available to them.



God has pressed this issue into my heart and has broken me apart for the people of Indonesia. Knowing that God has children in that nation whom He loves and cherishes, whom He died a gruesome death for, whom He came back to life for yet they do not know it strikes me with grief. This God-given grief motivates me to go and tell people of Indonesia about the goodness of Jesus Christ.

I will be traveling to Jakarta, Indonesia to work with Assemblies of God missionaries Jamie and Tasha Kemp from June 7th to August 5th. I will specifically be serving university students through the Chi Alpha ministry. I will be leading English-learning conversation sessions, small group Bible studies, and building relationships in communicating God’s Word to university students. I will also experience Indonesia by serving in local churches and helping with compassion work in villages.



It is the greatest and most humbling honor to share the Good News that God has brought me. I am beyond eager to introduce people of Indonesia to their Savior,  Advocate and Comforter. I pray that you envision the great value and glory in what God is to accomplish in Indonesia through my travels there. As you may imagine, a trip across the world to share Christ requires provision from God through financial support from you, my brothers and sisters. The cost of this 60-day venture is $5,000 that must be raised by April 30th.

While financial support is important, I want to end by asking for your prayer support. I ask that you please keep the lost people of Indonesia in your prayers. Pray that they will come to know their Savior and put their faith in Him. I also ask that you pray for missionaries in Indonesia, that they will boldly and obediently run the race before them in their ministries, in both times of great triumph and great struggle. And above all, pray that God’s glory will be powerful and victorious in the unreached areas of Indonesia.
