Help with Katy & Finns recovery
Katy Willams, a wildlife biologist, and her three year old son Finn were attacked by a giraffe whilst walking close to their home near Hoedspruit, South Africa, and sustained life changing injuries. They are currently both in hospital in critical condition. It will be a long and difficult recovery for both of them so this is to raise funds to help support the family throughout the process.
You can find an article covering the accident here
If you are based outside the UK you can still donate as normal - here are the details about payments from abroad made to the platform:
"We do not charge any conversion fees, but your donors may want to check with their bank to see if they charge a currency conversion fee."
Based on info from the family about potential rehabilitation costs I have updated the target to £40,000, I essentially plucked the original figure of £5,000 out of thin air, and have been blown away by how quickly we hit that amount - again, thank you everyone. Please keep sharing :)
Some news on Katy and Finn:
Katy is now concious and is communicating with her family through sign language - she can't talk at the moment because her jaw injuries need to heal.
Finn is stable but still in critical condition, and Sam has stated that he hopes he wakes up so that they can be reunited as a family.
Thank you all again,
