On the morning of October 26, 2016, the Aldridge Family’s life changed forever. A typical morning routine, getting her son off to school and taking care of the family dog, Karen went into cardiac arrest. Karen’s husband Dave was home, but sleeping, at the time and was awoken from the family dog Casey. Dave found Karen on the floor lifeless. Dave who is a local Police Officer went right into action calling 911 and started CPR, once Mullica Township Police Officer’s arrived, CPR continued for what seemed like forever, but they managed to resuscitate Karen.
Days following, Karen was in a drug induced coma, fighting for her life. At, a young age of 47, Karen had a procedure to get a pacemaker. Thankfully, Karen is a fighter and she will heal over time, but she was left with both physical and emotional setbacks and will have a long recovery.
Dave is going to miss a lot of time from work to care for Karen when she returns home and will need to be supplemented by a in home nurse. As we all know, life does not stop because of an unexpected event, and day-to-day living expenses along with unpaid medical bills, will still need to be taken care of.
The Aldridge Family is asking for your help. Any small amount is something and will help. We are hoping to help ease the stress of Dave being out of work and having living expenses along with medical bills to worry about. Karen and the family need time for healing, without having to worry about how they are going to financially survive.
It is our time to help a great family who’s husband goes to work everyday to help the community.
