Kalina's Cabinet

To honor Kalina’s spirit, her friends have organized a second drive benefiting the region’s less fortunate children. (Philadelphia has the highest rate of deep poverty in the nation, with 39% of its children living in poverty .)
After learning of a local student unable to afford tampons, Kalina thought she and her friends could help by organizing a toiletry drive at school. Cradles to Crayons was happy to distribute the items and money raised by Kalina’s Cabinet last year to Philadelphia’s kids in need.
We recently learned that this inspired a pilot project with Cradles to Crayons Chicago.
Each year, we usually collect hygiene products in tolietries in person but due to Coronavirus and for everyone's safety, this year we are collecting donations solely online.
This collection is such a great reflection of Kalina and her heart. She was such a sensitive and loving little girl. Kalina would be happy to know her project was being carried on without her. There are three ways to help.

The Gay family and friends are so grateful for your supporting this tribute to Kalina. Last year, your generosity helped raise over $3,000 in funds to help Philadelphia’s kids. Within the past year, there’s a greater awareness in the importance of period products to a girl’s education . A related documentary even won an Oscar! Also, Cradles to Crayons has expanded capacity.
