Hello we are Tris, Dave and Dior, just recently we lost our very much loved son and brother Kai. He was only 17, but in those years he accomplished many great things. He home schooled himself, was becoming a great underwater photographer, sailed nearly the planet, 34 countries in his passport, saved countless animals, helped people, awsome freediver and so much more. We are asking those that would like to show their respect to kai to donate instead of flowers or other.  He would much prefer we made a project possible. With his huge passion for the ocean his life should continue as an example for others to learn, enjoy and protect. So with your heartfelt donation we would like to create The Nice (Nomuka Island Conservation Environment)
Kai Discovery Centre. It will be a building on the fore shore of Nomuka with permanent information/display boards for the Island of Nomuka where he spent much of his time. The signs will use Kai's own photo's as much as possible and educate the locals and visitors on subjects such as. The local fishing regulations, Facts about marine ecosystems and  The future of our oceans and how we can be proactive.  The Discovery centre will be the hub for NICE Society to launch it's projects from. Projects like the development of a rubbish diposal programe , animal welfare and marine education for the community. Thankyou for helping Kai continue with his passion for the ocean, he makes us very proud and we miss him immensely.

Kai in Pic is during our initial veterinary survey work on Nomuka island. Kai really loved this island. We have had to put our project on hold due to some land issues. Good news is the Prince visits his island of Nomuka this month and we plan on having a chat with him about a site. Life for Dave and I hasn't been easy, we realize now that it will never be. We just have to learn to live with the pain. Thankyou to everyone for supporting this lengthy project.

Everyone has been so great with their help, we thank you so much. I haven't posted an up date for a while as time has been a bit overwhelming for us. No one can know how something like this will effect them. We have been given some great encouragement locally for the display center which has given us some new drive. I look forward to posting a drawing of the display center soon. Thanks again all, Tris, Dave and Dior

This excavator is a wreak now, she isn't going anywhere fast. It is parked in front of where we would like to build Kai's education center and play ground. It was nice to see a mix of kids playing on it. Dave, Dior and I have stumbled a bit with deadlines, things were just getting to pressured for our fragile days. The plans for the building are just about finished, the land is all set and the topics for the information boards worked out. Dave and I just found looking through Kai's photo's that we want to use a bit too hard yet. We will preview plans and with you as soon as we can. Thanks for all your support so far. Tris, Dave,Dior and the people of Nomuka.

Dave and I have come up with 10 topics for the display boards. They are projecting the importance of our environment and it's sustainable use. We will also display as many fish and bird species as possible. All the boards will be in English and Tongan with simple diagrams and photo's. It is nice for Dave and I to be working on this together, building on our positivism and unionism with out Kai in our days. Dior is at school with her Distance education and is showing dedication and strength. The photo i've loaded is the site for Kai's displays . Thank you everyone.

Dear Tris, David, Dior. Kai's story came even to Belgium indirectly. Kai's story touched me so hard, even when I dont know him. When I had a creditcard I would donate. I want to support the whole family and Kai's project by this comment and hoping that it somehow helps. By saying that it even spread the world and that the very useful project succeeds and spread out. Love from Belgium.

Easy goes - when you are ready, the boards will come together quite quickly. Lovely to see the kids playing on the big machine...... maybe it can slowly merge as it ages!! Beautiful site, looking out to sea. Building all ready to go....

I just saw that you are doing this project. So wonderful that you are near your goal and this remembrance to Kai and his passion for the ocean and environment will become a reality. It will inspire both locals and travelers. Ofa'atu
