Kaiden Vague was an incredible young man who tragically lost his life when he was the victim of an accidental shooting the day before his 16th birthday.

Kaiden lived his life to the fullest. He was adventurous. He was funny. He had the kindest heart, and would reach out to help anyone in need.

Kaiden is the most unique person that you will ever meet. He had high functioning autism, and boy was he proud of it. His family created and still runs a non-profit organization for individuals with disabilities called Softin Inc. They are an integral part of the autism community, and take kids out on the ocean on their charter boat.

Kaiden lived in Santa Barbara with his mother Tiffany, father Shaun, two brothers John (almost 14) and Shaun Jr. (12), and his maternal grandparents. His older sister Vivy (20) lives close by. He attended Dos Pueblos Senior High School in Goleta, where he was in his sophomore year.

We are raising money to help pay for Kaiden's funeral and medical expenses. Kaiden's family has access to this campaign, and will be receiving donations directly. Kaiden's grandfather David Bacon will be handling the finances.

Kaiden’s legacy will live on, as his family has opted to donate his organs. It is what Kaiden would have wanted.

About the Go Fund Me organizer: My name is Gwen. Some say I am Kaiden's behavior therapist. He would say that I am his sister. Over the last few years, I have spent more time with Kaiden than I have anyone else. Please continue to support Kaiden's family and close friends in their time of need.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. Please continue to share and circulate this page. We are still trying to raise money for Kaiden’s medical bills and funeral expenses.

Kaiden’s funeral will be held at the Living Faith Church in Goleta at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 16. Anyone is welcome to attend and to come share stories of Kaiden. It would mean a lot to Kaiden’s family for his friends from school to attend and share their favorite Kaiden moments.

There will be a celebration of life following the services, details to follow.

If you have any pictures of Kaiden, please reach out and we can include them in the slideshow at the funeral.

Tiffany, AKA Kaiden's mom, has posted a letter on her facebook page that she asked me to share. For those who would like to visit the family, please reach out to me so I can give you the address. Thanks everyone!

My son has saved a life this morning I was told. A few others he will save before he really heads home to our Lord Jesus Christ. I want to THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart to every donation, big or small. Every bit helps. the hugs I’ve gotten, the house visits, the text messages, the pictures sent. It all has done wonders for us. Even if you can only afford 50 cents. It all adds up and helps more than what I can explain Please note: even though I don’t respond right away please, don’t take it personal. I’m on an emotional roller coaster ride. One I’ve never been forced to take. I can’t explain it. I don’t recommend anyone taking this ride. But, I appreciate all the help, the food (although it’s difficult to eat but I’m trying my best) I can’t express how much We really appreciate everything that everyone has done and is doing. I’m in total shock over this. My heart is filling with happiness actually and tears rolling down my face to know how much my son Kaiden was loved.
To Dos Pueblos High School please keep that room open for kids to be able to get their feelings out and work the way kids do. They don’t like speaking to adults about their problems unless it’s family. They’re teenagers. They help each other better than the adults can help them at this time. Follow Guinn’s lead on this. So please for Kaiden, and for the rest of the student body, please, please, please keep that room open to them as long as they need to be able to cope with this and are able to move forward one step at a time.
To DPHS Charger Students and Staff and all of Kaiden’s friends...Thank you for being there for my son. Accepting his quirky ways as he would want you to accept everyone for who they are. He loved each and every one of you. I can’t express that fact enough. He talked about everyone all the time with me every day. In 8th grade, the jokes on Parker and Dylon. He would come home and plan out another joke for the next day. He would bust out laughing that you thought that he had you two confused. He loved you both and looked up to you! I’m looking forward to meeting each and every one of you as I don’t know all your faces. To Guinn (his big sister at heart) well, I don’t think I can type what he loved to say to you on here but he loved you so much! You were always there for him. We can’t express how much we appreciated what you did for him. Anyone who has a child with a special need, the best one is Guinn. You need her in your corner. There is no one better than her!
Kaiden wanted everyone to please wrap your arms around Ava Dunning help her through this and help Danny be their friend too. Please take care of her and All his friends. Thank you for all the cards, drawings the words of encouragement and the stories. Please keep them coming! As they help a lot.
Services we don’t have a date yet but it’s looking like Kaiden is still saving lives, so Kaiden’s party won’t happen until between March 11 through the 20. We will keep you posted. Please write down all your stories to share of you and Kaiden. No one will get left out.
One more thing when you go to Mc Donald’s or Carl’s junior, order a Dr Pepper no ice for Kaiden. I Love you all! And thank you all for everything!
