Rebuilding the Ribeiro Family Dream

Summary

Muriel Ribeiro and his beautiful family were the victims of theft over the Christmas Holiday.  They have invested all their savings ($20,000) into a food truck business that specializes in Brazilian food, not to mention, the countless hours they spent working to equip the food truck/trailer.  Unfortunately, the food truck was uninsured at the time that it was stolen from the Piedmont Heights area.  Muriel is an active community leader, youth organizer, and dedicated family man.  He has introduced the world of Capoeira (a Brazilian martial art) to countless families, children, and adults in the local community, as well as national and international communities.  His passion has not gone unnoticed, and he has been an inspiration to hundreds of people though his kindness, generosity and hard working spirit.  Please help us give back to this family who has given so much to so many.  We can save this family's dream by restoring the stolen food truck business!

Background
Muriel Ribeiro moved from Brazil to Atlanta ten years ago to make a better way for himself and his family by sharing his passion for capoeira. He started Cordao de Ouro (CDO) Atlanta, a non-profit organization, to help share the Afro-Brazilian martial art with us, and has been making positive impacts on thousands of lives, both locally, nationally, and internationally.

Family Business
After saving money over the years, from various jobs they had, Muriel and Maria finally raised enough money to launch a business to better provide for their family. They used their life savings to purchase a food trailer, which they intended to use to not only showcase Brazilian food, but to also serve as a vehicle to charge Brazilian culture with the local community. After the food trailer was purchased, Muriel worked on it nights and weekends to install the equipment he purchased to outfit the trailer. His project was nearing completion, when the tragedy occurred. The family business was taken from them before they could manifest their dream. And even worse, they now have no savings reserved to rebuild their dream.

How Can You Help?
Our goal is to use this GoFundMe account to raise money to purchase another food trailer and the necessary equipment to outfit it for food preparation and sales. For those of you that know the Ribeiro family, already know that they live to serve the community around them. Now we, the community, have an opportunity to show them our gratitude and sincere love by helping them to rebuild their dream. For those of you who do not know them personally, we invite you to reach out to them directly, or to us that know them, so that we can share with you how important your contributions really are.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more and share in the rebuilding of a family dream!!!
