K9 Jaeger Memorial/Replacement

On June 8, 2017 our Ada, Ohio police K9, Jaeger was tragically killed by an automobile while off-duty.  K9 Jaeger was a three-year old German Shepard who was responsible for multiple drug apprehensions including one arrest involving 175 hits of Heroin.  K9 Jaeger was credited with several criminal apprehensions during his short 1 1/2 years with the Ada Police Department.

Immediately after the death of K9 Jaeger our department was approached by a number of individuals who wanted to make a contribution to the continuance of the Ada Police Department's K9 program in memory of K9 Jaeger.

On June 20, 2017 our department memorialized K9 Jaeger with a plaque presentation to his handler, Sgt. Matt Purdy, thanking K9 Jaeger for his contribution to the safety and security of our community.  

We also determined to continue our K9 program as funded by the Village of Ada and authorized this GoFundMe page as a way to allow folks to contribute to the K9 program as several have requested.

Any funds raised by this GoFundMe page will be utilized to further the Ada Police Department's K9 program in memory of K9 Jaeger.
