On July 27th, 2015 my son Isaac Mendoza survived a motorcycle accident leaving him with multiple injuries, but most devistating is his brain injury. Isaac's traumatic brain injury had him in a coma.
On August 21st Isaac was well enough to be moved to an acute care hospital here in Albuquerque, but after 9 days Isaac had to be admitted back in to medical ICU at UNM Hospital.
Isaac has come a long way since the accident but he is still battling medical issues and he is not yet responsive to commands. He can open his right eye and it appears as if he is looking around. When his eye is open and you talk to him, there is some reaction.
September 9, 2015 Isaac is out of icu and now we are continuing our search for a Traumatic Brain Injury rehab center. We are having to look out of state and have been looking at three places; one in Denver and the others in CA. But of course insurances are only going to cover so much of the expense to get him there and Isaac's continued care.
