Dearest friends and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I'm humbly writing to you today to request your assistance, because i have no where else to turn. A year and a half ago, I started experiencing severe issues with my hip and back that have rendered me unable to walk unassisted, sit for any long period of time (to include driving) and to stand long enough to do basic household chores, such as cooking for my 10 year old daughter, Bella. I have continued to work on a modified schedule in an attempt to support my daughter and our 3 year old Australian Shepard, Bailey. I have searched for answers, going from one doctor to the next, being told I suffer from fibromyalgia and chronic sciatica, with little relief from all the treatments. Meanwhile, watching my health continuing to deteriorate along the way with little hope being offered. After performing my own research on a suspected condition I was treated for 2 years ago, I made an appointment to return to this physician. During my appointment yesterday, I was advised that many of my symptoms are the result of endometriosis and my only treatment option left is a total hysterectomy, a partial oophorectomy (removal of 1 of my ovaries) and removal of what he suspects is extreme endometrial growth. Due to the severity of my symptoms and the length of time I've already been experiencing extreme pain, the doctor wants to perform surgery in about 2 weeks. This leaves me little time to save any money to pay my bills while i recover and will further add to the mountain of medical bills that are piling up. He is hopeful that through this surgery, my symptoms should be minimized and allow me to return to a somewhat normal life.
This is why I'm reaching out to you today. After 1.5 years of tests, procedures, doctors visits and trying to maintain my bills, I have exhausted all of my financial resources and leave balances at my job. I will have to use FMLA to retain my job while I'm out for surgery and recovery, however I will not receive a paycheck during this time...which is expected to be around 4 weeks. I am a seperated, 34 year old mom trying to provide a home for my daughter, our dog and myself. I worked hard to put myself through school while my daughter was an infant, with her often sitting in my lap while I worked on my school work. I have spent the last 8.5 years working my way up in my job only to be sitting here today fearing losing everything as a result of my health condition. I am terrified that without any financial resources we will find ourselves homeless 2 weeks ahead of Bella's 11th birthday...which is not the "gift" any parent wants to give their child. So, I've had to set my pride to the side and reach out to all of you in hopes of being able to keep us afloat and pay for my surgery during one of the worst times in our lives. I know times are hard for everyone, but if you can find it in your hearts to donate anything to help us, we will forever be grateful! Even if you can't donate, if you would be willing to share our story with your friends and family it would truly be appreciated.
