Have you ever followed your heart to chase your dreams? Well... I have, and the journey is not always how I seen it in my dreams. I am Justin Fields known by many as JFields. I’m a young, positive leader with the desire to help this current generation out of ignorance and the lack of awareness about important issues through smooth, edgy, soulful and exciting Hip-Hop and R&B music.
I was born in Kahlua, Hawaii and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma a.k.a. "Shady Five-80." I survived a very difficult and unpredictable childhood as I moved frequently throughout the foster home system. During that process I was severely burned from scalding hot water by a foster parent; while my mother was doing hard time in a federal institution and I suppose my father was just off “being a man”. I want toreform the idea of being a man and lend a helping hand to young men, and help transform them into great men. Ultimately, I want to develop a captivating community and culture of people that genuinely care about the well-being of others.
I was brought up singing in a church choir, so music has always fueled my soul and given me a blissful love for music. Overtime I began to make beats for a hobby, and it eventually evolved into my profession. I grind hard, and I realize the relentless work ethic is necessary for me to achieve my goals and to reach my full potential of greatness. My goal is to perform at top flight industry standard with the best audio/video quality production possible.
As a youngster I listened to artist like: S.O.S Band, Earth Wind and Fire, Sam Cook, Luther Vandross, UGK, E40, Z-RO, Trae tha Truth, Andre 3000 and a plethora of other local artists and down south rappers and singers. Needless to say, I gain musical motivation from a broad selection of music. I started to explore making my own music for a career choice in 2010. I have built a very strong arsenal of music that includes R&B and Hip-Hop tracks; as well as an additional 60 original beats. In addition, I have performed in various shows and locations across the state of Oklahoma including: 2Throwd Birthday Memorial Bash, Mango's Studio to the Stage Artist Showcase, Power 103.5 Hip-Hop Cypher, the Lions Den, Kirko Bangz Opening Act at Smitty's House of Music, Guest host at club Mangos with special guess Freeway Rick Ross, and lastly an opening act for E40. These chain of events have been lessons of preparation for my devotion to have the best sound quality, high definition music videos and expertly curated editorials.
To move closer towards my dream, I put myself through school at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology to be able to earn the revenue it takes to fund mydreams, and I'm not even scratching the surface yet. Like I said before "the journey is not how I seen it in my dreams," but I am willing to work smart and continue toexpand my knowledge with my greatest effort and dedication. My music career and the quality of my work has steadily escalated over the past few years. In addition tomy musical and lyrical talents, I pray to remain down to earth, humble and real. The same experiences I have went through to create my songs make me the loving daddy I am today to my baby girl. At my shows people describe me as the life of the party. Some say I'm the guy who never meets a stranger.
Your help with funding will go toward top notch instrumentals, studio sessions, videos, graphics, CD printing and distribution, merchandise, and tour dates to assist me to create a solid foundation for the local Oklahoma hip-hop and R&B artists and musicians. Nonetheless, your help will contribute to helping me connect with industry executives and major contacts on a professional level. I plan to have my individual efforts impact a multitude of people around me and others that wish toinvest and believe in my vision. Once you have experienced my music, you will feel how I liquefied the intensity of my pain and obstacles into the octane that fuels the passion I have for music. It's only a matter of time before the whole world gets toexperience the phenomenal music that JFields delivers and you will be able to say you were the first to witness and be a part of it!
