Family in grief after learning daughter is homicide victim found behind shopping center
Police have released the name of a woman who's body was found behind the Target Shopping Center in Jones Valley Friday morning.
The Huntsville Police Department have identified the body as 27-year-old Tonya Lynn Amerson.
Amerson’s parents, Ricky and Susan Amerson said they were surprised when they were notified of their daughter’s
death.

The Amerson's described their daughter as a free spirit, and said they saw their daughter about once a month.
They described her as a nice young woman, and didn't believe she had any enemies. They said they can't think of a reason she would be where she was found, behind the Jones Valley Target at 1:45 on Friday morning.
Police declined to comment on whether Amerson died at the scene, or was placed there after she died.
WAFF 48 reached out to the Huntsville Police and the Madison County Coroner, and they are not releasing any new information or a cause of death, because of the ongoing investigation.
