Moving Fund

$250 of $2,000 goal

I didn’t want it to come to this as I hate asking for money.  As most know this past year has been quite a struggle.  It began with the loss of my long time employment of 28 years. I was unemployed until June of this year.  During this time, I was faced with a divorce which left me with little income. I was forced to use my 401K.

I found other employment but on Sept 10 was let go from that job as well because they lost one of their big clients and could no longer afford to keep me.  I did not work there long enough to qualify for unemployment.

So, I have been without income since that time.  I would not be here with this campaign if it weren’t for the most recent event of my power being turned off.  I applied for SER through DHHS but was denied. I called some agencies provided by Consumers Energy such as Salvation Army but was also denied with them due to being denied by DHHS.

Needless to say, I’m not sure where to turn. I will keep track of any donations I may get so I can pay back eventually.

Any money I get will go towards my power bill, and car payment and gas bill. I’m behind on everything.

Thanks and keep up those prayers and well wishes.

God bless.

It's been a little while. I still have this GoFundMe open. I hate asking for money but if someone feels compelled...then okay. I changed the name to Moving Fund because well, that's what going to be happening in the near future. My house is in foreclosure and will be sold on 3/13 by auction. I'm told I'll have 6 months from that point. So it's not like I'm in a huge hurry. But to be honest, I will be working on packing this place up starting as soon as I can. I'll work little by little so if you know where I can get boxes or totes, let me know! It's time for me to let go of this place even though it's got sentimental value. My inheritance from my great grandparents got us into this house. But I have all kinds of memories of them so it's okay. I even have the desk that belonged to my great grandfather and that will go with me wherever I go! I'm going to work on getting Oaklee set up as my support dog because I do need her emotionally. Sadly, I will probably be parting with Xena. She is a bigger dog and will need more space than what an apartment will provide. I also have a PayPal if one would prefer to donate in that way. Or, just simply pray too. Like I said, asking for money is a killer for me. I'll keep you all posted in case you have a truck and can help in that way. This girl is on to new adventures. It's time. I think the foreclosure was just a push that I needed.

It's been awhile since I've done an update and most probably figured I've given up or that things have gotten miraculously better. Unfortunately, that's not the case yet. I do have an interview today with Hope Network so please pray for me. It's for a Direct Support Professional position here in Sparta working with developmentally disabled individuals. It is definitely something different and something I have no experience doing but the posting said no experience necessary. I figure it could enhance my education and vice versa.

I also have recently signed up to do Uber Eats Delivery. So if I'm hired at Hope Network which would be three 12 hour days per week, I would fill the other days with Uber or Shipt shopping. I did my first deliveries a few days ago and did a little over $45 for a few hours. I guess that's not too bad.

My finances are still severely in the hole. I'm facing possible repossession of my car and foreclosure on my house. I'm not sure what I could get for my house if I chose to sell due to some damage done by the dogs (floor and window sill). And right now I don't have money to get me into an apartment anyway. I'd also have to get rid of both my dogs and that would be hard to do if I must be honest. They have been my companionship.

I'm just praying that 2019 is better than 2018 was. I'll keep on keeping on. I know I'm not weathering this storm alone. Thanks so much for all the love and friendship and prayers. God bless.

Happy Giving Tuesday! Well it's near the end of the day now. Today, I enjoyed volunteering at Santa Claus Girls wrapping gifts and then sorting hats. It was my first time volunteering with them and it was such a great time knowing that many 10 year old girls were going to be opening the gifts I wrapped. How exciting!

I thought I'd do a little update since GoFundMe urged me to. It's not the time of year to be asking for money and in all honesty, I hate asking for anything but the fact is, I'm still struggling but trying hard to carry myself.

My phone has been shut off so the best way to reach me is via email or Facebook messenger.

I did find work. I was accepted as a Shipt Shopper. For those that don't know what that is, it is grocery shopping and delivering for others. It has the potential to pay really well. However, with no phone, I am unable to do it. So I'm grounded at the moment.

Something else that I've noticed with this job is the need for new footwear! Goodness are my feet and knees sore! And with winter being here, I want to find something with good traction so I hopefully don't slip and fall. I'm nervous about that to be honest.

I get paid weekly from Shipt on Fridays, but I'm not sure if that'll start this week or next to be honest. I'm hoping it's this week. I got 9 shops in so far.

My issues pale in comparison to others. I'm treading water doing the best I can. I'm not hurting for food. That's one area where I did qualify for help.

I signed up for a free flooring class at North Kent Connect. It's not until February. It'll be good for me to learn how to do since this house needs some repair work.

God bless you all this holiday season. For those of us mourning loss, please know my heart is with you. It's not easy the first year or any others to be honest. (from GriefShare tonight). Peace be with you all.

Good afternoon! I just wanted to take a minute and give a little update. It still hurts that I have come to the point of asking for money. I know this is a tough time of year for everyone. I want to thank those that have donated to me here. You have no idea how much it means to me. I was able to get my power turned back on. Of course, all the food in my my refrigerator and freezer are wasted. And I came to find my internet service was interrupted. If it's not one thing, it's another. Consumers Energy has provided me with a name of an organization to call to see if I qualify for a Care Program. My account is on hold for 9 days to give me time to do this. If I don't qualify, then I'll be placed on a payment plan. The woman on the phone was very nice to me. I was grateful.

On the advice of my professor and Academic Advisor, as well as therapist and psych care team, I'm taking a break from school so that I can focus on finding work and these other issues. The holidays are coming, and it's an emotional struggle to be honest. I'll be posting my large refrigerator for sale as soon as I clean it out. And I'm going to be posting other stuff as well.

God bless you and thank you! Continue to pray or send positive thoughts. Please share.
