Hi everyone!

My name's Nate and unfortunately, I'm in the restaurant industry. It's an overly difficult and unpredictable industry with low pay, a lot stress, and a lot of hours. It's a sacrifice for a lot of people and it can go unappreciated.

That's why I want to help change the industry. Just/us is going to be a chef owned and operated restaurant in Saint Paul that will offer an often changing prie-fixe menu, priced for those who want to experience fine dining food in a casual and approachable environment. And finally, all of the chefs operate and get a portion of the profits from the restaurant.

But I can't do this alone. While I'm getting my business plan and SBA loans together, I need your help.

For the next two weeks, just/us is closed for dinner service and WIDE OPEN for lunch! We'll be slingin' quite possibly the best burgers this side of the river probably.

I know what you're all thinking... "I thought just/us was a super fancy new fine dining dinner spot, what's happening I'm so confuseddd??!??!!!" While only PARTS of that are true... we wanted to figure out a way to get to know our neighbors (at an even more accessible price point) in the weeks leading up to our official grand opening. What better way to do this than BURGERS? Burgers bring people together. Burgers turn friends into family, neighbors into best buds, strangers into lovers... You get the idea. Come on in for lunch next week and get to know us! Who knows, if this goes well we might just become a burger joint! Not terribly attached to the original business plan.

It's been almost a month, but here we go.

We're super close to being open, not only to your support, but to those who have also volunteered their time to helping us out. It's all starting to come together. While I haven't received the bank financing I thought I would get (hooray learning experiences!), I've acquired other funding options to make this thing work.

I won't lie, the margins are tight, and it will definitely come down to the wire, and that's why I want your help.

Share this with your friends, family, dogs, or whomever. There's definitely some benefits to donating. We're in the space and we'll make this work no matter what. But you can make just/us history by donating to our success and being immortalized in our establishment either on our wall, on our site, or even beyond that. I actually am in the spot now. I've been spending the last week and a half cleaning and I'd say we're about a third of the way done.

In other news, I've gotten approved for about half of my funding so I've been starting to purchase the necessary equipment and such. Hopefully I'll get the rest of my funding, but your help had certainly made this whole thing easier.

That said, I'm hoping that we'll be able to start soft openings in about 3 weeks, and open mid February briefly then full swing in mid March. I'll post more about it as we get closer.
