"JustUs" For Olivia

I am  Olivia Coley-Pearson of Douglas, Georgia.  I am a native of Douglas, GA.  I am a proud graduate of Clark College, Atlanta GA.   I have served as Commissioner of District 3 Douglas, GA  for over 18 years.

My  mission has always been to serve and represent Douglas' citizens  to my utmost ability and always keep my duties and responsibilities to the citizens of Douglas a priority. 

I,  Commissioner Olivia Coley -Pearson , was indicted in "May, 2016" for 2 counts of Improperly Assisting an Elector in the "2012" Presidential Election.  
However, I was only made aware of these charges in March, 2016,  almost three months before I was indicted in May, 2016.   On March 29, 2017,  a mistrial was declared in 
Commissioner Pearson's case,  after the jury failed to reach a verdict.  The Assistant District Attorney, Ian Sansot,  has stated  he  will re-try me  soon,  in hopes of sustaining a guilty verdict.

 You may ask, "Guilty of what?"  The single witness for the Prosecution in which I am  accused of "Assisting",  admitted to looking for " A friendly face" to explain to her how to vote.   It was her first time  voting at the age of  18 and she did not know how to vote.  I simply told her where to place the voter card and that the names of the candidates would appear on the screen .  I then explained  to her that she would then  touch the box by the candidates of her choice.   After  explaining this,  I walked away.   In fact,  the Prosecution stated I "Did Not Mark the Voter's Ballot".

My  attorneys state this is a modern day "Witch Hunt"  to remove me from office.  I am  a beloved member of this community,   and I persist on fighting for justice.   "Just Us"  (Justice) for Olivia is derived from the belief that it is my  constituents and supporters in the community versus the establishment that would like me removed from office.  Ironically,  5 months prior to  my Indictment in May,  2016,  A.D.A. Sansot submitted a request to the G.B.I to investigate me regarding a separate incident  of allegedly interfering with a traffic stop, in which the police officer in charge of the incident stated I had committed no wrong doings and had not interfered with the traffic stop, in which the G.B.I. validated the officer's decision.  I,   Commissioner Olivia Coley-Pearson, am being maliciously and vindictively prosecuted and persecuted.   A mistrial has taken place and to be retried is placing an unnecessary financial burden on me.  I am financially unable to pay attorney fees a second time, therefore, I am asking ANYONE WHO STANDS FOR JUSTICE, PLEASE GIVE ME A FINANCIAL DONATION.  I am the benefactor of these funds to fight for Justice, Equality and my FREEDOM.  

My  supporters have said to me, "Commissioner Pearson, we say to you and your Community,  it's not just you all in this fight,  but all of us who work to increase opportunities to cast a fair and equal ballot".   Voting is a fundamental right that should not be used to intimidate others from participating in our democracy.   We work towards more democracy,  Not Less.  "JustUs For Olivia,  Just All of Us...
