On the morning of February 14, 2016, my 23 year old cousin, Danielle, (night of her birthday) was bludgened, strangled and face mutilated in an attempted murder by a man she had accepted as a roommate after she placed an add on Craigslist.
She is in a coma, intubated and holding on to life...
If and when she wakes, she will need extensive care and rehabilitation.
Please help her any way you can.
Even if just with prayers...

Danielle is finally out of the hospital and at home with her mom! Her long road to recovery has officially begun in earnest. I will be seeing her soon and updating on her progress. Please feel free to donate and share some messages with her since she can read all the kind words you have all left. We hope she will find strength, as we have, because of your donations, prayers, and uplifting comments.

Danielle is still in the hospital after 10 long weeks. However, we are being told that (hopefully) within the next few weeks she will finally be able to come home and start her journey to recovery with her family! She is in physical therapy every day and she is walking and eating. She's come so incredibly far. On Saturday, we gathered a team of our family members along with some friends to support and represent JusticeForDani at the 5k Color Run. We were able to give out hundreds of the bracelets and speak to so many people about her attack. We are excited to raise awareness and bring attention to this cause for her. Our goal of $50k is just around the corner and we believe with your help we can get there for Danielle! Please continue praying, donating, and sharing this page! We will post pictures of the JFD team soon.

This has nothing to do with race. And the story is simple. She is my friend and she was looking for a roommate to move in as of Feb 8th to help relieve some financial burden..At some point between then and the 14th this guy, who she did not know, answered her Craigslist ad and she accepted...Now for anyone who knows her, knows she is a kind person..And if tou for one second believe this grown ass man and self proclaimed "fitness trainer" needed to go to the lengths he did to "defend himself" is a blatant fool..But no..Lets get some random dumbasses to jump on here and make it about theor own racial agenda..No one on here donating gives a shit about if you are black or white..All we care about is Danielle..If you have a problem with that, feel free to contact me and vent your bullshit at me, im extremely capable of handling it..but not on here where her friends, random caring people, and family are just trying to help her in any way we can.

It's pretty disgusting everyone is focusing on race. Why don't you all just focus on her pulling through? There are evil people of every race and gender. Shuttup & pray.

This is a go fund me page. Not a forum for you to discuss your opinion about the situation. If you want to help Dani, then help. Otherwise stop writing stupid remarks on a page that people like I, a friend of hers can see. Don't you think her family sees this?!? Have some compassion!!!

To every single person suggesting she got what she deserved for letting someone she met on craigslist move in, you really need to reexamine your pathetic lives. Trustworthy people use craigslist more than not. You're just assholes looking for attention when there's a girl who was just viciously beaten that needs it more than your ridiculous comments..

This is so sad. As an African American woman, i send my love and respect to the family and friends of this young lady. This isn't about race and screw anybody who thinks it is. This is about safety and women making sure we screen ppl before taking them on as a roommate. And for the ones who says she knew him or there's more to the story, you have a lot of nerve! This young woman is fighting for her life and crazy ppl do exist! I'm praying for her. And once i get my paycheck im gonna send her something. God bless!

Shut up with the stupid race debates and ignorant comments. Where is the compassion for this young woman and her family? A disguising POS took advantage of a woman that was simply trying to make ends meet. Placing an ad on Craigslist doesn't make her an idiot or give anyone the right to say that "she deserves it for being stupid." Seriously?! Maybe she was a trusting person who believed there are still good people who exist. Although, judging from some of the comments I'm not sure many of you know what it means to be a good person. The point is, she didn't deserve this regardless. Take the ignorance elsewhere because it doesn't have any business being posted here.

Some of these comments about race is sad and disgusting! A hate crime because she was white, I doubt it. I think he wanted a relationship and she wasn't having it. He got angry about being rejected, and flipped! By her injuries to her face, he wanted revenge and couldn't accept a pretty girl not liking him in return. Prayers

I donated to Danielle after reading this tragic story. I agree that this should not be about race. There are so many good and bad people of ALL races, and race should never be used generalize the acts of one person. If so, all it does it stoke the flames of hatred and keep all people from getting along.

Prayers I send and I will continue. Never stop believing in his miracles. Hold her hand and talk to her always. Read something she likes. Sometime they wake and tell you to shut up because your voice has been constant. That would be great. Never stop talking to her. Who ever visits, ask them to talk. And not just about what happened. Flood her with memories. Sincerely, Terry Killoran

Nothing more to the store than a vulnerable, idealistic girl moving in with a 35 year old man who pretended to be nice but was secretly plotting great evil against her. This is no doubt a hate crime; she was chosen and victimized because she was white. The only open item is whether this man was radicalized by Barry or not.

I can't believe that anyone would blame Danni for getting a roomate off Craigslist. Or that it has to be a hate crime. Many times there have been murders etc by Craiglist ads. I pray she will fully recover and be a testimony to others about her experience. May the Lord comfort and heal her and be with her family as well....God Bless
