Justice for Brian Rossi

$6,875 of $7,500 goal

Raised by 93 people in 16 months
Brian Rossi was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who was taken away from us all too soon. On January 5th, 2018, Brian was struck by a vehicle that was speeding along Route 46 in Moonachie, NJ. The culprit(s) left the scene and left Brian to die on the side of the road, alone. They have not come forward despite pleas from police detectives and family members for information.

We are starting this go fund me to provide incentive for those with information to come forward. The money raised here will be used as a reward for anyone who provides information that aids in the arrest of those responsible. If no one comes forward, the money will be donated in Brian's name to a charity of the family's choice. We appreciate all of your help in this time of need. To lose such a young soul is difficult enough - but to lose someone because of such a careless, callous act is unfathomable and has left the family without closure or peace. Hopefully, the culprit(s) will be found and brought to justice.

Hello,

I wanted to provide an update for the justice for Brian fund. As most of you have heard, the culprits of the hit and run have been caught and charged. The investigation remains open, however, and we have not yet been briefed on all of the details.

We have decided to donate the money raised for Brian to Family Promise of Bergen County.

http://www.bergenfamilypromise.org/bfp/

Brian loved his family more than anything and he also loved children. Family promise shelters working homeless families as they strive to overcome the crisis of homelessness. Kate, the director of the program was very professional and kind. Most of the recipients are homeless mothers who cannot afford child care and therefore, have trouble finding consistent work. Family promise is not a band-aid – most families will stay in transitional apartments for 2 to 3 years as they complete training and schooling, so they can support themselves independently. I hope all of you who so generously donated to Brian’s fund will feel good about the money going to Family Promise. $0.86 on the dollar goes directly to helping these families whose hardships I am sure most of us cannot even imagine.

We greatly appreciate your patience while we took the time to decide the best place to donate. We are still processing and dealing with this tragedy and pray that the prosecutors and lawyers will ultimately get justice for Brian. Again, thank you all for your love and support.

Dear Friends and Family,

My family and I cannot thank you enough for the incredible support and generosity you showed for Brian. High school friends, past students, current friends and family… We are overwhelmed at the response we have seen from all of you! We are so grateful to have such amazing people as friends. We love you!

I want to update you all on the great news we received yesterday. I am relieved to say that the hard work and dedication of the Bergen County Special Prosecutor's Office has resulted in the arrest of the man who hit Brian and left the scene. While we are disappointed that no one came forward with information, we are truly thankful that the detectives never gave up. We will never stop missing Brian, but we hope that this will bring some much needed closure and give us some peace knowing that justice will be served.

I also want to give you all an update regarding our plans to use the money that you so generously donated. As no one came forward with information, we have no one to give a reward to. As such, we will donate the funds to a worthy cause in Brian's name. Unfortunately, we cannot donate directly to the BCPO, as this is a conflict of interest. We are researching various non-profits and charities where the money will be put to good use. We will make a decision soon and, of course, provide you all with another update. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for organizations that you believe might be worth looking into, we would gladly welcome your feedback.

Again, thank you all so much for your generosity and support. We thank you for sharing our grief and hope that Brian's memory will forever live in your hearts.

Love,

The Rossi Family
