Junior Theatre Rocks is a Paramus Children/Teen production company originally formed by Kristine Hart. Our program started as a one month children's summer camp where we would audition, cast and bring to life a show all over the course of the July month. After the first year, it became quite clear that Hart could not run the program alone. Hart decided that the best person to help assist her with JTR would be none other than her friend with plentiful experience in musical theatre, Kathryn Newbrough Osborne. Ms. Osborne has been a professional actress and director for over thirty years and has been teaching theatre for over twenty years. She has directed over fifty shows in the New York City area. She currently teaches 5th-8th grade Theatre Arts in Perth Amboy. Ms. Hart, a professional lyric soprano and local elementary school Music Teacher at Memorial School in Paramus, has performed in countless productions of Opera, as well as the Met. She has directed many musical theatre productions. Together, they have formed a well-balanced team of instructor/directors to create amazingly memorable shows. JTR has produced fresh, faithful takes on classic and modern shows as well as original content. After touching the lives of numerous children (some who even travel from other towns over to do the program), it was decided that the JTR program would branch out to produce other shows throughout the year leading up into the summer. These shows will run with more of a workshop feel and touch, with a smaller cast. With support from veteran JTR members along with a few newer ones, these productions will take off. Right now, we are producing a workshop production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown for our teens. We are raising funds for rehearsal and performance space as well as royalties and licenses. We ask for your support in securing a place for our wonderfully talented performers who deserve a place to shine!
