Julia's Medical Fund

Julia Bean was the light of the world to everyone who knew her.  She was a loving, generous, beautiful person.

In early July, Julia found some small tumors. Having been successfully treated for uveal melanoma (cancer of the eye) ten years ago, she got them checked right away. The results of the biopsy came back positive for metastatic melanoma, a stage four cancer. She and her family were devastated by this news, but tried to stay positive.

Julia began immunotherapy treatment at NYU Medical Center on August 9th. She knew that it could take several weeks for any sign of how the treatment was working.

She had been in a fair amount of pain over the past few weeks, but on Wednesday, the pain grew considerably worse. She went to the emergency room, where they did a CT scan that showed the tumors had grown, and she had developed a blood clot. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and at 7:00 Thursday evening she passed away peacefully with Mike by her side.

In this difficult time, if you would like to show your support, please consider donating to this fund to help offset medical and memorial costs. Your love, support, and considerations are deeply appreciated by the Bean and Flynn families. Your donation is a tremendous help.
