Juan Aguirre was a Custodian in LAUSD and an active member of his Union (SEIU Local 99) before he retired. After retirement he devoted his time fighting for workers rights and fightining to improve his community though his political involvement.
He was always involved in elections throughout Los Angeles, especially in the San Fernando Valley. He was also involved in lobbying legislators in Sacramento and in the San Fernando valley around immigration, healthcare, worker's rights, and racial justice.
The labor movement and the social justice movement have lost a brother. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena Aguirre who is a Special Education Assistant at Lowman Special Education Center and a proud member of her Union SEIU Local 99.
All of the money that is raised will be given to Juan's wife to help pay for the expenses related to his funeral. Contributions of any amount are welcomed and appreciated.
