A New Life for John and Gracie

$6,065 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 132 people in 42 months
Since having lost my Mother, Toni to cancer in 2015, I felt it appropriate to update this campaign.  I am a legally blind man receiving survivors benefits, so my income is limited. My Mom's home is facing foreclosure so I need to find a new place to live for myself and my dog, Gracie.

Housing assistance programs are setup to support people in my situation. However, most programs in Texas, where I live are currently closed to the application process and the programs I have successfully applied for have a waiting period of at least 2 years.

My goal with this campaign is to secure funds that allow me the opportunity to successfully transition to a better living situation, with a minimal amount left over for utility deposits and basic furnishings.

Please donate, if you can, whatever you can and share this page with as many other like-minded individuals as humanly possible.

Thank You.

I need a computer to replace my laptop. Nothing fancy. There are a number of used and refurbished, basic Dell and HP machines on Ebay for about $100 (plus shipping and handling on some listings) that could meet my needs just fine. As a disabled person with limited mobility, I rely heavily on a computer with internet access to manage my life and meet responsibilities. Please donate. Thank you. -John

I have struggled with deep psychological trauma since childhood. It has damaged relationships with friends, family and especially myself. Whenever life becomes particularly overwhelming or depressing, I close myself off and engage in self loathing, self destructive behavior. My mental health is severely damaged. I'm sick and I need therapy. Please help.

My neurology appointment got pushed back to August, so June is about getting new glasses. These old ones are a decade old and hurt to wear. The last time I got glasses, I had to pay $80 out of pocket. Please make a donation to support this goal. Thank you.

I'm turning 39 this month on the 23rd! A few months ago, I weighed 183 pounds. Now, I'm down a notch in my belt, my favorite jeans sag on me and I'm maintaining 170 but there's still work to be done. I won't see the neurologist until June, so I'd like to focus back on getting those resistance bands. Now that I have my new Medicare card, I'm finally going to try to get a new eye exam and glasses. Please donate and help make these birthday wishes come true. Thanks everyone!

Did the computer sell? If not I'd like to ask about it (how much space, asking price, etc)
