We hear of tragedies occurring around us all of the time, and we pray that something similar will not happen to us. When a tragedy strikes and it does happen to someone close to you, the sorrow and desire to ease the overwhelming heartache of those directly impacted takes over. Our purpose, with this fund, is to give our greater community a way to show their love and support to the Maness family as they grieve the untimely loss of a beloved husband, father, and son, Gabriel Maness.
As many will tell you, Gabe was a stand-up guy, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a hardworking man who worked full time and also was taking classes to finish up his business degree. He was a devoted father and husband who loved all of his girls, even the one who has yet to make her arrival and delighted in spending time with them whether it was doing chores at the house or running errands together.
On the morning of April 17th , Gabe left the house early that day to get doughnuts for his wife and daughter, to spoil them, as he typically did on weekends. He knew it was going to be a great day ahead. The weather was beautiful and he Kristy and Brielle would be going fishing to celebrate his birthday before coming home for cake and presents. On his way home from getting doughnuts, Gabe stopped at the grocery store. It was there, while walking down the aisle, Gabe was shot and killed by a gunman for no apparent reason.
In that instant, the Maness’ world crumbled and it will never be the same.
