Lance Adkins, a 33 year old Warren Police Officer with a beautiful young family is fighting for his life and needs our help!
On February 27, 2017, Lance got the devastating news that the kidney cancer he had battled so hard to fight just a few short years ago has metastasized and is present in at least one lymph node- giving him a diagnosis of Stage 4 Renal Cell Clear Cell Carcinoma.
The prognosis from the Oncologist was bleak…with a glimmer of hope. The Oncologist told Lance that his chance of long term survival is 10%. In order to be that 10%, Lance needs to undergo surgery and extremely intense immunotherapy treatment. These procedures will make Lance very, very sick and the costs are astronomical. BUT LANCE WANTS TO BE THAT STATISTIC. AND HIS FAMILY NEEDS HIM TO BE THAT STATISTIC.
As a 4 year veteran of the Warren Police Department and facing his 2nd battle for his life during that time, Lance’s paid time off from work is limited. His ability to supplement his income with side jobs as he has done throughout his career to support his family will be halted during his fight for his life. The money we collect for him will be used to alleviate the burden of supporting his family and paying the astronomical uncovered medical costs of the fight he is willing to take on for his family. Please show Lance he isn’t fighting alone!
Lance has dedicated his life to public service. Before becoming a police officer, he worked as a dispatcher for the 911 center and as an EMT. Lance has always been the first guy to step up to help anyone in need. As a rookie officer at WPD, Lance took the initiative to prepare a package to send to a young boy named Tyler who was dying of cancer and his wish was to receive police patches. Lance prepared a package that included a WPD uniform shirt with patches and other items along with a card signed by the officers. (A photo of that package he prepared is attached). This is the guy Lance Adkins is—and its only one of many examples. He has done so much for others – it’s our turn to do for him.
