Hello All!
I am Erin Nicole Washington.
A Los Angeles baby through & through.
*Attended Alexander Hamilton High School, Music *Academy, Performer of the Year Award
*Gradauted State University of Purchase College, Conservatory of Theatre Arts & Film, BFA in Acting, C/0 of 2013
I've been performing since I came out of the womb. I've been dancing and singing since I was a toddler. Acting seemed like a natural progression from that. I simply can help myself from entertaining. I love to make people happy and feel at ease. I have found my purpose, ready to master my path.
To Young, Gifted and Black... At Harvard!? Pahhhhahahaha! This is BIG!
In life, most of us want things to go to the places we have envisioned ourselves going. We have plans and visions, some of them divinely inspired, that we want to see through to completion.
I am seeking financial assistance to attend American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theatre Institute for Advance Acting at Harvard University. I feel I am worthy of sponsorship because my tenacious desire and love for the arts can be manifested with your help. I pledge to ensure that my legacy will be one of success and service. When I received the acceptance letter from Harvard, I thought, “Wow, ‘what is now proved was only once imagined.’”
HOLD UP, WAIT A MINUTE! BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PRAY FOR BECAUSE YOU MIGHT JUST GET IT!
My mother and family has no where near the desired amount to fulfill the tuition cost but I would NOT have planted my feet in that audition room if saw Money as an obstacle.
He put me on this journey to develop something in me indefinitely and not just to fix something temporary. We have to put more care into the fruit that is being produced in us and through us than forcing a solution. We don't wake up one morning bearing fruit. Fruit grows over time and it's the result of a lot of nourishment and cultivation over time.
There is more power in the process than the outcome; there is more learning in the journey than the destination. I have fallen in love with the process and fully embraced the grind that has lead me to create everyday behaviors that support that identity as an actor: working on speech, running monologues, networking, meeting with likeminded artist-friends, metoring young minds, organizing acting workshops & volunteering with theatre companies.
It’s confirmed: performing and teaching the art of acting is my destiny. With my international studies, I want to train actors specific techniques to reach their highest level of artistic expression. I have an obligation to my community,
