Before I get started let me first say that I know there are many, many others campaigns out there that are way more deserving of funding than mine. By all means please, go fund them. However, if after sending some money their way you still feel compelled to fund this campaign I will be eternally grateful to you.

Help me build a workshop!

Hello everyone, my name is Joshua Knipfer. I am a 38 year old that is currently going through college to enter into the field of networking. It has been a struggle both financially and emotionally to say the least. I have little time to do anything other than school and work but even when I do have those precious free blocks of time I have nothing to soothe my stress.

I’ve actually thought of making a GoFundme campaign simply to pay my bills but I can’t bring myself to beg for money in that fashion; I’ve always worked for that sort of thing. So I decided to start this campaign instead since it will kill two birds with one stone. It will help me find bliss and relaxation and as a result I will be able to sell original and commissioned items. If you would like to donate but want to talk about a commision for the donation feel free to contact me!

Woodworking has always been a passion for me. The feel and the smell of a woodshop is extremely comforting. Creating beautiful pieces from nothing is an exciting thing to do. From making small trinket boxes and humidors all the way to full size furniture, the process involved with woodworking is very Zen to me. It is one activity in which my mind focuses on nothing else. It's been a long time dream to get a shop going, get creating, and hopefully one day be able to turn it into a full time business venture.

For that reason I am asking for help in getting a woodshop going. It’s been many, many years since I’ve even had access to a shop let alone had one available at all times.

The amount that I’m looking to raise is my optimal amount for having a woodshop with everything I would need to start with for a large variety of projects as well as extra to get some materials to start with. Obviously should I not meet the goal I will get what I can and work from there. I have priced out many different options on tools and equipment from size, power, manufacturer etc. etc.

Below is a list of tools and equipment that I am hoping to get so that you can see why I am looking to raise the amount that I am. Obviously there are some more specialized items on the list that could be done without to start and get at a later date, though most are essential. There are also many more items that I haven’t included on the list that would be needed to have a fully realized shop, but those can easily wait.

Items I NEED but don't have yet (Or have a line on):

Clamps (Bar clamps, C-clamps etc. etc.)
Router (Preferably with a table and some amount of bits)
A set of drill bits. This includes regular twist bits and spade bits for wood.
Bench or Block planes.
A bench vise
Belt sander

Items I WANT but don't have a line on:

Orbit sander
Drill Press
Chisels (Including those used for chip carving)
Jointer
Thickness Planer
Wood Lathe (With tools)
Bench Grinder
Brad nailer
Many misc tools, things like squares, calipers, Awls, Center punches, Handsaws, jigsaw blades, sawsall blades, etc. etc.
Air Compressor
Shop Vac

Items I have on borrow but would like for myself:

Table Saw
Band Saw
Scroll Saw
Bench Sander
Finishing Sander
Jig Saw

(Of course, donations in the form of tools or equipment are always welcome)

Hello everyone, thank you so much for the donations thus far.
I just wanted to post a quick update to show some examples of what type of commissioned work I could do should I reach my goal. (I don't like that updates are put before the campaign message so I'm putting this here)
