Josh and Friends Cancel Cancer
Donation protected
On September 16th, 2016 Josh was diagnosed with Leukemia. He started chemo on the following Monday, beginning his battle with cancer. Over the next couple months Josh underwent rounds of progressively more aggressive chemotherapy and it was not effective. After a few rounds Josh's medical team brought up an experimental new cancer treatment in which your CAR-T cells are extracted and genetically reprogrammed to fight the cancer. Early December 2016 Josh began this therapy and by the end of the month Josh had actually beat the cancer!
However, the healing was not done. Josh's immune system had failed him so it was decided that it need to be replaced. In February 2017 Josh began aggressive radiation so that he could receive a bone marrow transplant (invented at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center). This procedure is meant to ensure that the cancer doesn't came back by totally reconstructing a new healthy immune system in the body. On February 17th, 2017 Josh received the transplant and began the final leg of his battle. Up until now Josh has been spending his time at home recovering and allowing his new immune system to grow strong enough for him to re-enter society without having to worry about infection. After all of this Josh is finally able to venture out into the world more freely and on April 21st 2018 he is finally able to get back on stage and do what he is passionate about; play music. To celebrate Josh's recovery we are holding this online fundraiser and putting on a rock show (April 21st @ El Corazon // Seattle, WA) to raise money for the group that helped keep Josh kickin. Funds from this site, as well as the merch/ tickets sales from the show, will all go to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
To boost donations Designer Disguise (Josh's band) as well as the other bands playing at the show (Osatia/ I Am Infamy/ Beyond the Woods) are offering rewards for donations! Also if we reach our goal Nick and Jackson will donate their hair to Locks for Love!
