This story has broken my heart and I feel we have to do something for this little girl.

This is from the New York Times :

Shivering from hypothermia, little Jordyn Grace was clutching her mother’s unresponsive body as the floodwaters rose around her. A rescue team in a Zodiac boat, on the lookout for those in distress in Beaumont, Tex., spotted the small pink backpack the girl was wearing and pulled her and her mother aboard.

“Mama was saying her prayers,” the 3-year-old, recovering on Wednesday in a Beaumont hospital, told a relative, Antionette Logan, 38.

“Jordyn told me they were in the yucky water for quite a while,” Ms. Logan said. “It’s a tragedy that her mama died, but it’s a miracle that Jordyn survived.”

With the death toll from Hurricane Harvey climbing to 38, those who survived the storm are just now learning the names of those who did not and the terrible ways in which they died. Some episodes are particularly haunting, like the tale of Jordyn and her mother Colette Sulcer, 41, a nurse who died on Tuesday in the flooding in Beaumont, about 100 miles from waterlogged Houston, as her daughter clung to her body.

I don't know this young girl or her family, but I feel the necessity to help them out during these very difficult times. I will make sure the 100% of all money donated with go to Jordyn's education and support. As someone who has given my entire life to social causes, I cannot sleep until we do something for this little girl. As a father, my heart is broken.  Please join me in supporting this girl's future.

Hello Beautiful People!

Thank you all for your patience as we were putting together the right process for Jordyn's family to withdraw the money and put it into a trust for Jordyn.

Colette's cousin, Antoinette Logan, is Jordyn's guardian and caregiver. Antoinette and I have spoken on numerous occasions over the past few weeks and she has kept me updated on the family and Jordyn. The funeral was last week, so the family is just getting over some rough days. They are taking it one day at a time, as Jordyn is still a three year old child and still processing all of this.

Your generosity and kindness that you have all shown to the family has given them strength and hope for Jordyn's future. Antoinette constantly tells me how they are forever grateful to all of you.

Antoinette is now officially connected to the campaign and she will be withdrawing the money in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please continue to share as there is no limit to our compassion. THANK YOU!!

I spoke with Colette's cousin yesterday and first and foremost, she wanted me to express how much gratitude she has for all of the kindness and generosity you have shown to her family.

Jordyn is currently in her care and they are taking it day-by-day. The details of what happened are more
heartbreaking than I imagined, so they are taking their time to work through all of it. The family is preparing for the funeral in a few weeks, as well as cleaning up their own homes after the devastation of the flood in Beaumont.

Within the next few days, I will assist the family in setting up a trust fund for Jordyn. We will also explore putting a small portion of your donations into a bank account for Jordyn, so if the cousin wants to take her on vacation when she is 5 or send her to summer camp when she is 7, she won't have to carry the financial burden.

As I would like to be sensitive to the family's grieving process, I appreciate your patience, as we are hoping for all of this to be set-up by the end of the month, and we will end this campaign at that time.

Until then, please continue to give and share with others, as there is no limit to the generosity that Jordyn deserves.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you have done. It has uplifted the spirits of Jordyn's family in more ways than we can imagine. Love.

Hello Beautiful People. While the family was hoping to have a meeting this afternoon, many of them are still in danger from flooding and lack of running water, so they are very focused on making sure that all members of their family are safe. Once I speak with the entire family, I will let you all know. Until then, please continue to share this campaign with your friends and family to raise as much as we possibly can for this precious angel. I am forever thankful for all of your kindness, generosity and compassion. Thank you!

I have spoken with a cousin of Collette and Jordyn's this morning and made her and the family aware of this campaign. They are incredibly grateful for all of your support. They are having a family meeting this afternoon and asked if I could call in and speak to the entire family, which I will.

Also, to reiterate, I cannot and will not withdraw any of this money. Once the family has a plan in place for Jordyn, they will withdraw the money and it will go to Jordyn.

Thank you all for your kindness. You are beautiful, beautiful people.
