Jordan "TEAD" Vaughn Retrospective
Anyone who's had the pleasure of knowing him understands the genuine good nature of his being. He's always been such a positive and supportive friend, we feel it's only necessary to tribute him with such a passionate energy.
We're seeking photos and stories of his times with family and friends to be compiled into a hardcopy book. A book full of vibrant photos that will commemorate his 20+ year career of hard work and dedication he so passionately dedicated himself to.
All proceeds raised will go directly to production and distribution of the work. All proceeds beyond production will go directly to support his Mother Jennifer Vaughn to help with any unexpected expenses that would have arisen during the unexpected tragedy of his passing.
The projected timeline is to consist of 90 days of submissions, layout and preproduction. We will then print at the scale of the demand.
Page Layout of publication to be by Henry Cunningham, a production designer currently residing in New York City.
All content entries to be compiled by Danny Babcock of Higher Level Art of Cincinnati, OH.
We'd like to offer a copy of the book to any contribution of $30+.
*Also with early support we'll offer a shirt printed at no cost by Identity Customs in Louisville, KY.
Some nuance on this project:
I am the writer of this page, Danny Babcock, Owner of Higher Level Art LLC. Based in Cincinnati, OH. My company has specialized in Murals, Signs, and Commercial Art installations for nearly 10 years. I have been friends with Jordan for approx. 15 years and was familiar with his work prior to our meeting. As well we have done work together in a professional capacity, as recently as last summer for a U.S. Bank campaign launch in Cincinnati. The way we're approaching funding is to budget, up to, $30 per unit to accommodate projected production estimates, to include domestic shipping. All funds will be appropriated to the project to accommodate the demand. If/when we exceed the goal amount we will recieve a better unit cost from vendors as well as the ability to add content if necessary. Any overages after production costs are finalized will be accessible to Jennifer and/or Jessica Vaughn, directly through the "GoFundMe transfer to beneficiary" interface to be used as the family wishes.
* If photos are of high resolution, or the files are too large to email, create a Dropbox link or similar that we can download those images from.
**Please send content entries to:
I suggest "Tead" or "Jordan" in the subject line for filtering.
Thanks to all of you who've sent photos in.
I'm fielding options of printer/binders to make sure the layout and material plan fits their required specs for their production methods.
The plan is then to have the files print ready by the end of this month, January. To then, be fit into their production schedule.
*If there are any photos of Tead pieces that have yet to be sent, please do that now to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are now in the process of closing the Funding page and moving toward production of materials. We have received a fair amount of photography of Jordan's work, and hope to continue receiving those.
We are now going through the process to receive the funds and organizing materials toward production.
Thank you to everyone who has sent their contact info who are to receive the books and shirts.
**Please don't hesitate any longer if you have photos of Tead Freights, Pieces or Walls. We are hoping to compile as many as possible and that can only happen with your help.
Another HUGE, thank you, to all of you who have so generously donated already. We are on track to at least triple our original goal of $10k by the end of the campaign. We are so touched that everyone has come together to help build this retrospective of Jordan's lifetime of prolific work, as well as aid his family in this time of true tragedy. Everything donated at this point will be going to the Vaughns. We will be keeping the page up while the book is being curated, and until further notice, so please keep sharing the link.
Due to the overwhelming response, we are putting a limit to the number of books for a donation of $30 or more. The last day to qualify for this will be Friday May 12th.
That being said, this is OUR tribute, including you, to our friend and brother. We are still requesting submissions for inclusion. Please send those to Higherlevelart@gmail.com.
*Photos, Stories, download links or digital albums. We will accommodate scanning of hardcopies or developing negatives.
If you are to receive a book, Please respond to the contact email with your shipping info and your preferred standard t-shirt size.
We will post updates and/or reach out directly regarding further details as necessary.
To everyone who has contributed,
We met the initial goal astoundingly quick. Although I have thought about pushing the goal itself upward, I think it's best to just see how far above and beyond the initial mark we can go. I'm going to stick to the plan of $30 or more receives a copy of the book itself. Once a unit prices determined for production, everything above that will go to the family. I think at this point we're primarily raising funds for the Vaughn family. If you would like your contribution of $30 or more to go directly to the Vaughn famiy ,opting out of the publication, please make a note via the email contact or in the messages.
Again, thank you!
Jordan was a BIG part of both my son's throughout our years. As with me and my wife, Denise.... Our lives have been richer having known this talented young man.
