Jon Kinsler is a 28 year old young man who grew up in the Volusia County area making a name for himself on the soccer field. He graduated from Seabreeze high school and went on to play collegiate division 1 soccer at Georgia Southern University. Since then, Jon has come back to the very fields where he learned to play to serve as a coach for the Ormond Beach Soccer Club. He also serves as the head coach for the men’s varsity soccer team at Father Lopez High School where he has been named the “coach of the year” for the past 2 seasons. In addition to serving others as a coach, he is a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and leader both on and off the field. Those who know Jon personally, know that his contagious smile/laugh can light up any room but that smile is something that many have been missing the past couple weeks.

 

While on his way to work on Friday August 7th, Jon was involved in a head on motor vehicle accident with an 18 wheeler. Miraculously, Jon survived the crash and suffered NO broken bones. He did however suffer trauma to his head which required him to be placed in a medically induced coma for a week on a ventilator. Exactly 1 week after the accident, Jon was taken out of the coma and is now beginning to move and communicate once again. While we do not know how long his recovery will take, we do know that he has a great deal of inner strength and an amazing support system.

 

We have created this page in an attempt to provide his family with financial support towards his medical bills.  Jon has been an instrumental component in many individuals’ lives; therefore, I feel that it is only fitting that we give back and help him through these hard times.
