Lend a hand for Jonathan’s cancer battle

Jonathan is an energetic, optimistic 30 year old man who is always helping others in every possible way. Jonathan and I have been together for almost 4 years. When we met, we decided to pursue more in life and both enrolled in college to get a degree. We got engaged after 2 years, graduated college in July 2018 and he got a great job in his Healthcare Administrator field, life seemed to take off in the right direction for us. Until one day in late November he started to feel back pain that didn’t improve with Tylenol. After 4 days of pain we decided to go to the hospital and he was admitted and diagnosed with pancreatitis. After 1 week at the hospital, he was discharged on pain meds but only after 24 hours at home we had to return to the hospital because the pain was worsening. He was admitted again for a week with same diagnosis of pancreatitis. After hydration and pain control he was sent home right in time for Christmas. But on December 26 after spending the holidays in pain and not feeling well, he decided to go to a different hospital in hopes of better treatment.

This time, on January 3rd more tests led to the devastating diagnosis of Stage IV Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma with metastasis to bile duct, adrenal gland, abdomen and some lymph nodes which is non operable at this stage. It is so unexpected when you just turned 30 years old and just start making plans for the best years of your life.

This type of Pancreatic cancer is fast growing, he’s lost 35 pounds over the last 4 weeks and he needs to battle this as pro-actively as possible. A stent was placed in his Common Bile Duct to assist with the blockage caused by the tumor.

His best choice of treatment at this time is palliative chemotherapy in hopes to extend his life.  Treatment has been a challenge as the best cancer hospital didn’t take his insurance so he needed to change and while that happened we had to wait 3 weeks to start the aggressive chemotherapy. However this is just the beginning of the road, and according to the doctor he will likely continue with Chemotherapy for undefined time, however we have Faith that God can make miracles and with prayers and treatment Jonathan will be cured. He’s been through a very rough time 4 years ago when due to a motor vehicle accident he lost his dominant left hand but he never let that break him down. He was able to overcome that and we know that he’s a fighter and warrior to fight this one too.

We are coming together as Jonathan’s family and friends and I’m starting this fund to help him offset with expenses not covered by insurance and continue living.

I am asking anyone and everyone who is able to or can assist us by donating whatever you can to help him in this dreadful battle!! It will be much appreciated and we ask that you keep us in your prayers.
