Jonas' Walk To Recovery

For those of you who know Jonas, you might know him as someone who embraces challenge with determination and will.
On January 31, he was riding home from work on his motorcycle when he was struck by a car, leaving him with shattered wrists, a severely fractured elbow, broken lower back, traumatic spinal cord injury and paralysis.
Although he currently cannot use his arms, as they are in recovery after surgery, he will regain use of them over the course of the next couple of months. It is unclear if he will regain the use of his legs again, though the doctors are cautiously optimistic that with an intense rehab -- he could walk again.
In full Jonas spirit, one of his first full sentences was "I will walk again no matter what!" (right after saying " it was the other driver's fault!") He is mentally preparing himself for a long journey ahead in rehab.
We are turning to our friends and family to ask for your support and donation in this time of struggle. Jonas will be unable to work for the next year while he focuses all of his efforts on recovering from this horrific accident.
All donations will go toward helping make his home wheelchair accessible, affording the necessary equipment, out of pocket health costs, and allow him to not work while he focus his efforts in rehab. I, his sister, will be withdrawing the money and giving it to Jonas, who will be using it to pay for the items listed above.
Jonas is able to use his hands, he will blog about his experience, from the challenges of not being able to move inside his body to the abyss of his internal narrative. With humor, insight, determination and a will like no other, Jonas is committed to the task that lies ahead.
We will be posting updates and a link to his blog as we forge on!
His love Alexandra has been amazing. She has been by his side day and night to help heal and care for him. Jonas is deeply grateful for the support of his family and the thoughtful wishes of his friends.
