Dear Friends and Colleagues,
In November, John Caruso, a dear friend and steadfast member of the UIC family since 2010, began his fight with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. John has always worked diligently for the University and to advance his career. He is always seeking the next opportunity to educate himself and his peers and epitomizes the core values, optimism and inspiration the university covets.
John, his wife Meghan, and their loving network of family and friends have remained resolute in their optimism as he continues treatment and they await the arrival of their first child. I hope that our UIC community can show our appreciation and support for John and his family.
Fundraiser on Mar 9th at Ph.D Pub from 4pm-8pm
A fundraiser will be held on Thursday, March 9, at Ph.D. Pub, 1257 S. Halsted St. from 4 to 8 p.m. Please come ready to bid on Cubs tickets, wine baskets and a variety of other exciting items. If you have items to donate, please let me know. Also there will be “split the pot” and raffles for great prizes. Donation to attend is $20.00 at the door, which includes three drink tickets and hors d'oeuvres. All proceeds benefit the John Caruso Family.
