ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Canadiana  outlaw country virtuoso and folk singer Joey Only and his band of Outlaws are hot out of the gates and ready to share their latest recordings. Fresh back from the Transgression Trail, Joey Only has a brand new full lenth LP, “No More Trouble in the Peace”. This album is about trouble and redemption with explicitly Canadian content.  The songs you will hear on this album speak about the restlessness of the heart, finding family, lost loved ones and overcoming unimagineable struggles.

Anyone who has heard the demo cuts already agrees, this record will be the best product Joey Only and company have ever created.  That's why we want to do it right, that's why we need a budget.  Because nowadays, you can't easily get away with a bank robbery, the band is choosing to use crowdfunding to help support basic costs.  In today's competitive market balancing family costs and creative costs can be tricky.  Being competitive in the music industry means we have to spend money to make money...money none of us have.  We are also willing to consider sponsorships.

Where are we at?
Drummer and musical leader Sean Scallion has tracked and mixed up a storm of amazing sounds by band mates, Ed 'Steady Eddie' Hanrahan, (bass), Leah Martin, (vocals), Sean himself, and of course Joey Only as well. You can expect the regular guest appreances from lifetime Outlaw members, Jeff Andrew, (violin), and Adam Farnsworth, (keys) and regular Mike Mourneau.

We need funding for:
-An honorarium for our hard working sound engineers Sean Scallion and Wesley Gregg.
-To pay off costs already incurred such as gear purchases that were already made.
-The tracking is done but we would still like to hire a professional to do the mixing.
-The mastering of the album is going to be done by Steven Drake (formally of The Odds and producer of bands such as Tragically Hip).  He's giving us a deal but he isn't free and we woudn't ask him to do that.
-To hire our favorite publicist Joelle May from Mod May Productions in Vancouver.
-Duplication of 1000 copies of the CD
-Album art work.
-Promotional materials.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
The title track 'No More Trouble in the Peace' is a joke song about the oil and gas companies trying to take over my friends ranch up in the Peace District here in British Columbia.

'Beer League' is a hockey song telling the story of the Big Dog Plumbing Team down in Nanton Alberta.  The last team unfortunate enough to have Joey Only staking down the wing.

'North of Number Seven' waltzes eloquently about the loss of the old rural ways.  It's a lament about how things just never stay the same.

'Walker Rock' encourages survivalists to hit the bush when the shit hits the fan.  Live in the shadows, think like an animal...you will do what it takes in those life or death days.

'Noble Cause of the Cowboy Soldier' is mostly based on the true story of a fallen friend and his family.  The Alberta born young man went to Afghanistan and didn't last a month there, the family didn't want him to go but he believed he was doing the right thing.

'Tempest Wind' is the true story of our friend Tempest Grace Gales murder on Hornby Island BC, November 16th 2009.

Joey Only has become widely known as a Stompin Tom Connors impersonator.  He rewrote the words to Tom's tune 'the Don Messer Story' and relabled it 'the Stompin Tom Story' and now opens the Stompin Tom Tribute shows with this number.

'Cold Wooden Box' is an epic waltzing ballad that reminds us to not take life for granted because it is so short.  Joey Only has often said the only success he hopes for is to have his songs remembered when he is gone.

Lastly, 'Let me Comfort You' is a lullaby duet with his wife Leah Martin.  It's a song Joey wrote at the ranger cabin while working the back country of Bowron Provincial Park.  The song is dedicated to their two children who were yet to be born promising them he'd be out of the bush in time to be their daddy.

Tracking is done, mixing is underway!  Thank you so much to everyone for their support over the years and to the players who have helped keep the band alive!
So cheers to relentlessly loving what you do, in stead of simply laying down to die.

(Note from Joey: We didn't want to make a gofundme campaign.  I have never applied for grants or bursuries, never worked for a record company, have always afforded the bands needs out of my own pocket.  I just can't afford to make this record and I can't afford not to either...thanks for the help).
