Joey Decker Flooded Home Fund

Donation protected
Louisiana's LeRoux would like to help their  bassist  and  vocalist, Joey Decker.

In the historic Louisiana Flood of 2016, Baton Rouge was a hard hit city. Joey grew up and still   lives in Baton Rouge. On that grim weekend when the waters quickly rose, Joey, his sister, his brother, and their elderly mother had to evacuate homes and head to a shelter. They took with them little more than the clothes on their back. When Joey and his family were able to visit their homes, they were shocked. They lost everything...vehicles, furniture, appliances, clothes, photographs, musical instruments, and all precious keepsakes. That started the   clean up of what became nothing more than a shell of a house. The more they cleaned up, the more they realized, nothing was salvageable...not even the houses.

This morning we visited Joey and were   able to get a better understanding of what our talented bassist   is going through. Joey was without   flood insurance because he was in a 'no-flood' zone. The Federal Government can not possibly help him to the extent that he needs.

Understand this, the Joey we know and love is not a man wanting a hand-out. The truth is, he has worked very hard all of his life to have the home he was in for 20 years. He has two young daughters, everything of theirs, just swept away. Here is a brilliant musician, who has made his living creating  and performing with many acclaimed musicians in South Louisiana.

Our hearts are with Joey as he begins the arduous task of discarding those things that have been a part of his life for 20 years. There is literally nothing left, accept a shell of a home that will have to be rebuilt. We know that Joey's world as he has known it, has fallen apart. But we also have been blessed by his resilient spirit, indicative of so many others who have suffered through this tragedy. To see Joey smile in this photo (far right), even though the rest of the picture appears grim, is a testament of his faith and unwillingness to be broken. Please keep our brother and his family and those who are dedicated in helping him to rebuild in your prayers, and if you can, with a donation on this page. Show that you stand with LeRoux by giving what you are able to a man we care deeply about. We stand with you  Joey Decker. We hope that you do as well.

This fund is  being setup and managed by Jim Odom of Louisiana's Leroux, and all funds will go directly to Joey Decker  for the sole use of rebuilding his home.
