Memorial for Joel Cornette

On the morning of August 16, 2016 Joel Cornette passed away at only 35-years-old. The world lost a son, a brother, a teammate, a friend, a coach, and a mentor.
We are a group of former basketball managers that worked under Joel during his time at The University of Iowa. He was a positive role model on the court, and off of it, he had an even bigger impact on our lives. In the short period of time we had together, Joel played the role of both a mentor and a friend.
When our group first met Joel, it was clear how much of a positive influence Butler University had on him. During his time at Iowa, he would beam with pride about being a Bulldog. He loved the roll of the underdog that surrounded Butler, and cherished the consistent success they experienced beyond his graduation.
With that in mind, we wanted to set up a memorial fund for Joel at Butler. We are still working out the details in regards to what this will entail, but all of the money we collect will go back to the Bulldogs. My fellow managers and I have agreed to each donate $33 (Joel's number at Butler) to get things started. So, whether you can donate $3, $33, or $300 dollars, anything you can do will be much appreciated and go to a University that Joel loved.
