Jody DeVere Family Woolsey Fire Recovery Fund

$8,457 of $38,000 goal

Raised by 75 people in 5 months
Joseph DeVere and his wife Rosanna lost their home and everything in it in the #WoolseyFire Seminole Springs Mobile Home community in Agoura Hills, CA.  Joseph is 100% disabled, he has an aggressive form of MS and a spinal cord injury and this complicates his care and immediate and long term housing for them and their pets.

Joseph is currently at a VA Nursing Care facility one hour away from Rosanna, family and his support system. He receives a much higher level of care living at home with his wife and personal care giving staff.  We are working on moving Joe and Rosanna into a new home and need help to solve many financial and logistical challenges.

Rosanna's 2017 Subaru Outback was lost in the fire and needs to be replaced as well.

Joseph DeVere is a veteran and served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 7+ years.

1/14/2019 Been a rocky road the past week. Joe was admitted to hospital and spent a few days in ICU with an infection and seizures. He has a large kidney stone and UTI. He is out of ICU and being stabilized. We hope to have a new bed at a nursing home closer to Rosanna once he is well enough to be transferred. Some good news construction did start last week on a home in Ventura to make accommodations for Joe's special needs last week. It will take about 3 months to complete. In the meantime Joe will continue in nursing home care which has its challenges as they do not care for Joe as well as in home care. Rosanna continues to face many challenges and financial needs coordinating all the moving pieces of putting their lives back together and having to go between work, pets and Joe. Their cats and dogs are still being cared for by family members, Rosanna is staying with her brother. Still a long road ahead please continue to keep Rosanna and Joe in prayer and share this GoFundMe page with your friends and family.

January 1, 2019 We are still working to make ready a home for Joe and Rosanna to move in to. Joe continues to be in VA nursing care, we hope to move him to a closer facility to family soon. 12/14 I had an emergency appendectomy with complications including an abscess and just got out of the hospital 12/27! This threw quite a wrench into forward progress. I am covelesing at home now on IV antibiotics fighting two stubborn infections. Will be recovering for another couple of weeks. My church, friends, family, AutoFam and you have surrounded us with love prayers and support. I am so grateful and fortunate to have so much help. May 2019 bring health, healing, recovery, peace and most of all love to bind all wounds. Jody DeVere
