Jodi's Medical Journey to Recovery

No matter how far life pushes you down no matter how much you hurt you can always bounce back - Jodi-Ann

If you know Jodi, then you know she always puts others before herself, and has never hesitated to help others, now it’s time for us to help her.

On January 11, 2016, 23 year old Jodi-Ann got the heart-wrenching news of being diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer that had started in her femur and was quickly spreading to the surrounding muscles of her leg. She’s gone from daily dancing to walking with crutches. This was just weeks after receiving a promotion to Administrative Co-ordinator at the law firm she works at, graduating from University and making significant headway in her own charity, causing what looked like an immediate halt in a bright and successful future. Her doctor revealed that Jodi’s survival rate was low if she wasn’t treated immediately, and that there was a strong chance of her losing her leg.

Nicknamed Sunshine for her bright and ever-giving, ever-glowing personality, Jodi is blessed with a spirit of generosity and is known for her hard work and commitment to anything she puts her mind to. At just 23 years old, she is the founder of her own local charity event the “Little Foot, Big Foot” program that allows for the growth and guiding of young children with the help of young adults as their “Older Sibling”. It’s easy to see that the kids in the foundation miss her so much and have been asking for their ‘big sister’ to come back to them.

Jodi’s Oncologists have recommended 10 weeks of chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumor, followed with surgery to remove the tumor from her femur and surrounding areas. She is then to undergo 17 additional weeks of chemotherapy. We are so hopeful that Jodi’s treatment will be successful so that she can go back to doing what she does best: helping others.

Jodi is currently unable to walk without using crutches, and needs to start treatment immediately. She has a tremendous support group but is in desperate need of the funds to allow her to get proper chemotherapy treatment and surgery. We have hope, but we need action. Please help us raise funds for Jodi’s medical expenses. We love her and want to do everything possible to help this young lady who always helps others.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
