The JM Jazz World Orchestra is a unique project. It brings together some of the planet’s most exciting young jazz talents from around the world to form one world-class jazz orchestra.

Now the orchestra needs your help to help make a difference through music. We are crowdfunding to create JM Jazz World Scholarships to help musicians from all backgrounds to participate in the JMJWO.

With 12 different countries and 6 continents represented in the 2018 orchestra alone, the project truly represents jazz music’s global future.

Since 2012 the JMJWO has offered over eighty young jazz musicians from all around the world the opportunity to tour Europe under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed jazz artists.

The orchestra has performed at such festivals as the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival and Milan’s Unicredit Pavilion. It has collaborated with such musicians as Gonzalo Rubalcaba, John Riley, Hector Martignon and Sigi Figl and has been led since 2015 by US trombonist, composer and educator Luis Bonilla

"I am taking part in the JMJWO because I want to grow as a musician, trumpet player, and human being."

- Fareed Simpson-Hankins (USA), Trumpet in the JMJWO

"I'm taking part in the JMJWO because it represents what I believe my musical life motto to be, which is "Music is a wonderful vehicle to connect people from different walks of life together." I believe wholeheartedly in the vision of JMJWO, and this is what inspires me to take part in it over the years."

- Siyasanga Charles (South Africa), Trombone in the JMJWO

In order for the JM Jazz World Orchestra to continue providing these opportunities to future generations of young jazz musicians we need your help. We are launching this crowdfunder to help us cover the costs of making an international orchestral tour possible.

In particular, we need your support to create JM Jazz World Scholarships that will help musicians from all backgrounds and from all over the world with the travel costs involved in participating in this project.

We have secured the local costs for this tour which include accommodation, meals and concerts. Now our biggest challenge are the flight tickets for the musicians who make up the JMJWO: young jazz players from around the world. The musicians who make the JMJWO swing. In order to make this possible we are aiming to raise €20,300

These musicians are the future. They are studying at music conservatories and universities around the world, or have recently finished their studies and are launching their careers. As a result, the flight tickets which allow them to take part in this opportunity are a big financial undertaking.

Donate now and let's not let these musicians miss this unique opportunity to perform in front of new audiences, advance their skills, work with our world-renowned artistic director, play in an international environment and, finally, bring jazz to new audiences!
