Hi Folks, it is me again. Many of you know that my home in Copiague NY was damaged by Superstorm Samdy.
My problem now is not storm damage. My problem is the botched "recovery" efforts that has left many people like me stressed out and bankrupt.
I am collecting Social Security and I have lost my career. My resources and, needless to say, my optoions are severely limited.
Many of you, my facebook friends, helped me in my previous plea for re-location assistance. To tell you the truth, I am mortified to ask for help again, but I have no choice.
These funds will be used to payoff the shortfall between the NY Rising Buyout offer and the ammount of liens that I actually owe.
$20,000.00 is my best guess, judging by the payoff statements from the mortgage company.
My guess is that I need the funds within a month to close out the worst 3 years of my life. Sandy was not the cause of this evaluation of the quality of my life over these 3 years. "Recovery" efforts, beauracratic double talk, insurance industry fraud. I was also ripped off by a family member that I had tried to help. These factors generated severe depression and geunuine PTSD. Therapy was available to me and it helped turn me from thoughts of suicide to positive thoughts and actions of ending this hell. Now.
With my move to Fla. I am on a positive path to a new life. I feel better, now, than I have in years.
As I said at the beginnin of this appeal, I am embarassed and mortified to be taking the path of asking friends for help, again, but you were all so generous, preeviously and I am so close to ending this ordeal once and for all.
I am very greatful to any and all help.
