Jim's Bionic leg braces

$7,880 of $7,880 goal

Raised by 67 people in 12 months
For those who do not know me, Thank you for taking the time to read my story.  I was born with bilateral clubfoot, both feet.  I have been to doctors who offer no hope.  I have found a brace that will finally offer me relief and a real chance to be active, the Exo Sym or IDEO brace.  This was developed by a doctor to help our veterans, but those with clubfoot have found that it helps them as well.
The Hanger Clinic in Washington State is the only place where they are available.  In talking with our insurance the chance of them being covered is slim.  The cost associated with this is upwards of $30,000 with the needed travel, hotel accommodations and the braces themselves. Once the fitting process begins I would be in Washington for 4 weeks.
I would love to be able to go out one day and enjoy this beautiful state we live in and not be in pain.  Not only would I be able to enjoy nature but also do more things in the yard or hanging out with Park at the baseball fields all day and not be down the next day.  If you have the means please consider helping us reach this goal.  I will post updates as they delvelop.  Questions don't hesitate to ask.  Thank you for helping me become a more active dad, friend and husband.  This will truly change my life.  #JimsBionicLegBraces

Wow!!! What a week we have had and all thanks to each and everyone of you. Monday Jim didn't wait for the doctor to come in and helped him put the braces on. Tuesday in the clinic was learning to climb then we met Sam from the Fish Philosophy. Wednesday was learning how to balance better on uneven surfaces. Thursday was agility and he did a lot of drills. The big day was Friday..... he ran!! The treadmill was on a 2 incline and 6mph. Previous to the ExoSym device he could only do 4 mph with zero incline. Throughout the week ahead I will post more photos. There are a lot of videos on our Facebook page JimsBionicLegBraces
We cannot begin to express how much love we have for you
