 OLATHE, KS
Jim Bell was a good husband, father, firefighter and friend. He was on vacation with his family in Colorado when he suffered a head injury while skiing on Monday, February 13, 2017. Sadly, Jim’s injuries were very severe and he passed away at 2:22am on Friday, February 17, 2017. In the spirit of giving and saving lives, which he made a career of, Jim’s organs were donated and will help many other people. Jim is survived by his wife, Courtney, and two grade school age sons. This account has been established by friends of the family to help provide a bright future for Jim’s boys, who he loved so dearly.

In honor of Jim Bell, Mandy Chick, the 2016 Missouri State Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, wanted to do everything she could for his two boys. She added giveaways and a 50/50 drawing to her Daytona 500 watch party yesterday. She gave back ALL the profits from T-shirt sales. The Overland Park Fire Department Union also donated a generous amount at the event. For a total of $2611. Add that to the Gofundme.com donations for a grand total of $21,222. http://www.mandychick.com

He was such an amazing father. I always loved seeing him at the school and kids events. I loved telling him the stories of Brennan's "fan club", he would always laugh at the funny comments Gracie would say about him. You are such a strong mother and I know with the support of your family and community you are surrounded by love.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family . Your husband was always so nice , smiled all the time and spoke to us either while he was dropping Brennan off to school or at Gymnastics . I will sure miss seeing him and his constant involvement and love for his children . Our family is grieving with you as we are saddened by this loss. ( Hugs!!)

My sympathies to your family. Breaks my heart, too soon. It is time for the ski resorts to be transparent regarding these situations.
