Jim Macvicar Funeral Costs
Jim was loved and respected by so many, he was a kind soul who would go above and beyond in helping anyone he needed. Whenever i would come to visit my family in Scotland, he was the first person to contact me, asking if there was anything i needed and helping me with the arrangements, because thats just the kind of man he was. He was well known in the football circuit and had a passion for his beloved teams Morton FC and Sheffield United, but he loved nothing more than his Wife and his girls.
As you can imagine, no one plans to say goodbye to a loved one this soon in life and so no one prepares for the financial implications that this has on their family. Jim had the kindest nature and would never ask for anything in return but if he was ever to ask for anything it would be that people take care of his Wife and children. I am appealing to anyone who loved and cared about Jim, his best friends, his family and anyone who's life he's touched.
My grief is insignificant in comparison to that of my sisters and his children's. I can not comprehend what they are feeling at this moment in time but the last thing i want for them to think about is how they are going to afford the send off he deserves, and if anyone deserves the best send off its Jim.
Any money raised here will go directly to cover the funeral costs for Jim. If there is any money raised above the target it will go to help support Gillian and his children.
My sister doesn't deserve to worry about this, she needs to focus on coming to terms with everything, You can reach me or any of her sisters Sharon Morrison or MiMi Black on Facebook if you need any more information. Please feel free to write any memories you have with Jim in the comments below, it would be healing to remember him from everyone elses perspective.
Our final farewells for my dad Jim MacVicar are as follows:
The funeral will take place 11am Friday the 5th of May at Greenock Crematorium, we kindly request if you have a Morton tie that you wear it if attending, as a tribute to my dad. Afterwards the wake will be held in the Torpedo Factory Club, 10 Chalmers Street, Gourock.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all your lovely messages and to those who contributed to this fund that was set up for us. The love for my dad, and support for us at this time is overwhelming and we will forever be grateful.
R.I.P Dad, I love you
Today at the Morton game there was a minute's applause in memory of my dad and Kris Juszczak, a young community football coach at Morton. My family were in attendance and it was emotional to be at the game without my dad, but it was amazing to see so many people pay their respects.
Again, thank you to everyone for your support, your messages are comforting and we will always be grateful.
This will be the last update from me Gillian's sister, the fund will now be taken over by Jim's daughter Chelsea Ann so they can make arrangements for his funeral. All deatails of his funeral will be shared in due course. You have all provided so much support that we can not thank you enough.
Thank you so much
I have to stress that Gillian did not ask for any of this but she is eternally greatful and humbled that you all care so much about her beloved Jim and his family. I have raised the target primarily because this will really help his family in the future and it looks like we will be catering to a large group of people at his funeral. Anything not used for his funeral costs will help Gillian and the children not think about the financial implication of this sudden loss.
I am so so grateful for you helping our family in this time of need and Jim would be so proud of you all
Thank you is not enough x

Heartfelt condolences to Jim's family from a fellow football supporter
