In 2014, Europe and the World were introduced to Josh Boileau, as he reached the final of both the U21 European and World Snooker Championships. Unfortunately for Josh, the timing was simply not right, but the reward of experience at these levels would prove invaluable.
Just two short years later, Josh found himself again in the U21 European Snooker Championship Final. The class and style of play he brought to the table and with what could considered poetic, having lost the same fixture 1-6 two years prior, took the trophy with a devastating 6-1 win.
His poise and patience showcased a maturity of a young player who is clearly ready to take the next step in his career.
Excelling in the Junior ranks for the best part of a decade, Josh now has the opportunity to become the professional his talent and dedication deserves.
It has already been a long, hard fought battle to the top of this particular echelon, but Josh knows that this is just the beginning of the difficult graft it will take to survive the early stages of his tour career.
At the outset of any sporting journey, it can be extremely expensive to survive and support the dream of progressing through the ranks.
Snooker now boasts substantial amounts of prize money; as much as it has since its height a generation ago. But it is global sport and with the aspirations of those who choose this path, comes the inevitable costs of travel, accommodation and living expenses.
For players who find themselves featuring regularly at the business end of tournaments, the fear of simply surviving the sport is a thing of the past, but for those starting out, it is imperative that sponsorship is obtained as early as is possible.
With this in mind, we are asking for any and all donations towards Josh’s first year on the Professional Snooker Circuit.
