Hello, my name is Kristen Baker. I have a wonderful opportunity to go compete in a National Competion in Denver, CO for Hipology. This is a competitionthat ius done by 4-H. 4-H is a club that we help to better our community, and it is a global network of youth organizations whose mission is "engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development"
Not only do I have this opportunity but 14 others competing in different events. Hipology is a competiton based on the horse. We are required to take test, judge horses, identify parts of the horse and skeletal system, identify the parts of an english and western saddle, identify types of bits, identify different types of grains, and the list just goes on!
However, this trip unfortuneatly isn't free (of ocurse nothing is free!)The expenses I need help raising is for travel, entry and, lodging fees.
My traveling fee will be $171
My entry fee for the competiton is $198
I need as much donations as possible by November.
Along with trying to raise money, I have been working very hard on studying for this competiton and, still however have school to attend, working part time, working with my horses and getting ready for state finals. So going out to stores to fundraise, unfortuneatly is very hard for me, as you can see because I have all the time in the world on my hands!
Going to this competiton can increase my chances of getting scholarships, etc. Now to place or win something in this competiton can mean much more! This would benefit me for my future careers and get through mny years of schooling I will have to do to become my profession.
The slightest help would be greatly appreciated! I would love to go and compete but I cannot finacially afford to pay for this on my own.
