Jess Emery  Dianella, WA

My name is Jess Emery and I have recently being selected for Southern Terra the U20 Women's Australian Ultimate (Frisbee) Team where I will now go on to represent Australia at Wroclaw, Poland in July later this year.

I joined Ultimate after learning to play in a few classes at Mount Lawley Senior High School. Eventually I decided I wanted to play for a club and learn some of the more complex skills. That’s where I joined the Yokine Social League at Primal Ultimate. I have just finished competing in my second season there and I am now competing in the Perth Ultimate League on Wednesday nights. I enjoy Frisbee because it is a social event anyone can participate in. I've also enjoyed the quirkiness of the sport especially when people ask you what sport you play, it’s definitely a conversation starter that interests people.

Attending the World Junior Ultimate Championships is important to me because it would be an extremely rewarding experience in which I will be able to develop and enhance my skills as an Australian athlete. To achieve this goal, I am required to travel interstate on multiple occasions and to Poland, yet as I live in Western Australia, one of the most isolated city's in the world, the costs of travelling have become quite expensive. Your donations will not only assist in reducing the costs of travel but will allow me to further develop my skills and knowledge of the game, allowing me to become a better player and leader for my teammates.

Overall the cost of my trip has come to $6000, and much of this I am looking to fundraise.

This includes:
Tournament Fees - $150
Accomodation - $500
Tournament Food - $200
Support Staff - $1000
Training Camps -  3 x $300
Flights and Pretournament Accomodation - $3100
Uniform - $120

Simply just hit the big 'donate now' button and your donation can help me travel to Poland!

Representing Australia in Poland by wearing the "green and gold" would be an honour and a fantastic experience in which I will learn more about the spread of Frisbee across various cultures around the world whilst enhancing my knowledge and skills of the game.

Overall, the World Junior Ultimate Championships, provides me with the opportunity to develop myself as a person, a teammate and an Australian. Currently, the final training camp is being held in Perth on July the 22nd just before we leave on the 24th. I am seeking financial assistance for the cost of travel to events like these and Poland, where I can further develop my skills.

And keep an eye out because I've been popping up all around the place in local newspapers and other public venues.

It takes me 24 minutes to get to airport, 3 hours to wait and 24 hours to sit. So with that extremely productive time I could be playing 16.44 games which eventually brings us to Frankfurt, our first stop for the pre-tour and a half time break in Abu-Dhabi. Your support has been amazing over these past few months and I am super excited to be heading off to represent Australia at the World Junior Ultimate Championships. Don't forget if you would like to stay posted like the 'Australian U20 Ultimate Page' where you can see live steams from our games otherwise I'll be keeping everyone updated here as well.

Witam Polska , I w końcu nadeszła! Some good news arrived on Monday, my final tournament costs came in a little bit below to what was originally advised which means I have now reached my overall fundraising target giving me enough to travel to Poland and represent Australia! I honestly don't even know how to begin thanking all of you wonderful donors but it would be an understatement to say that I am super excited to be heading off in only 22 days thanks to all of you. Your support has been overwhelming and I truly thank all of those who have helped me on this big adventure. Next step will be on the 24th of July when I fly out of Perth to Berlin for our pre-tour with the rest of the Australian U20 Team. If you are keen to stay in the loop during this adventure I will be posting regular updates here and on Facebook but also the Australian U20 Ultimate Facebook page will various have updates and livestreams during the tournament. Once again, thank you to all those super stars who have been the best support I could ever dream of!

Sharks bite roughly 80 people each year worldwide. Personally, I have never been bitten by a shark and don’t really plan to anytime soon but on the bright side of things, I have now raised over 80% of my Poland Frisbee Adventure. In only a month from now you’ll be seeing me off to Poland which I am super excited about! All of you have been of amazing support but its still not too late to donate! It would be wonderful if you could share this update with your friends and family but most importantly don’t forget to click the link and hit the big 'donate now' button.

I honestly cannot believe it, all of you superstars have helped me so much in my fundraising efforts that I now only have $1400 left to fundraise! I am currently passing over Iran, an arid desert climate, which is now a trek only 4000km away from Wroclaw! This adventure has been extremely exciting for me and I cannot thank you all enough for the overwhelming support I have received. Only 38 days to go now and it would be wonderful if you could share this update with your friends and family but most importantly don’t forget to click the link and hit the big 'donate now' button. Also here's a cheeky snap from the Australian Youth Ultimate Championships last weekend in Melbourne. The Western Australian girls team scored a very rewarding silver medal against a tough final with New South Wales whilst Southern Terra the U20 Women's Australian Team won first place at our fundraising tournament in Melbourne. It's been a busy few weeks so don't forget to keep in the loop with all that is going on by subscribing to updates for this campaign or even sending me a friend request on Facebook where I will be posting regular updates whilst on tour.
